Regardless of the strain it puts on your roster, it would be coaching malpractice to walk into next year with Pyne and Buchner as your two realistic options as starting QBs again. You just can't do that. We know Pyne is bad. We have very little evidence that Buchner is ever going to be above average, and evidence points to him being injury-prone.

We're putting the cart before horse right now, but hypothetically using 6 out of 85 scholarships on QBs isn't going to be plausible. Somebody is going to have to walk.

Like everything else, in case we haven't been paying attention, it will sort itself out.

He is definitely more of a passer but isn't afraid to run if he needs too. I wouldn't categorize him as a mobile QB

What’s always stood out to me about his film is he seems to have an incredible feel for the game. The game seems to be in slow motion for him. Some HS QB’s make highlights sprinting out the pocket and throwing on the run and you’re like awesome throw but was that necessary. Not a lot of wasted movement here. Very efficient in his movements.
