Tillery had the physical tools but it just seemed like his heart wasn't in it
I respect that. Football is pretty stupid. Actually sport is. Haha.
I think the joke is on Brady in a way. Play until 40 - what a dork.

What do you expect from a Hillary supporter?
And yet he is still a millionaire. I don't think he was too impacted. What do you expect. It was a no win scenario. He had to choose from a giant douche or a turd sandwich. We all lost with that election. We all keep losing when trying to act like one side is holier than thou.

His PFF grade on the season was average for an interior lineman, and he was mostly playing as a situational player for the Chargers who brought in some DL to take his spot this past off season.
They had already not picked up his 5th year option, so the writing was on the wall this was his last season in LA.
Seems to be they just wanted to give him a head start on free agency, as this move doesn't really save them on money for the cap.
Schefter tweeted last night he is likely to be claimed on Waivers.

He lost his starting job this past season to some off-season additions. No fifth year option exercised, so the Chargers most likely felt it was best to cut him now and open a roster spot for someone else.

Chargers fans are pretty universally happy to see him go. Sounds like he hasn't stayed dedicated to football or in the weight room.

they had four Domers on the roster at one time. I know Rochell is now w/ the Browns so w/ Tillery gone, it’s down to Tranquill & Gilman.

Tranquill is a free agent after this season concludes. I'm curious to see what his market value will be. His injury issues have followed him to a degree since entering the league, but he's been a solid player on their defense this year. They use him a lot in coverage, he's graded out well in that role, and has improved as a pass rusher.

Tranquil seems better than “solid”. I usually just see the box score though so I don’t know.

Seems like yesterday that ND was flipping him from Purdue.

The degree to which NFL fans celebrate their team cutting players (on Twitter and stuff) is weird.

Strange turn of events. I remember a story about Tillery being excited to meet Father Hesburgh and talk to him about Martin Luther King I think. This was just before Hesburgh died. He was once considered Notre Dame's most interesting player in writeups for the Indy Star and Bleacher Report. Sad development.
