Shit is fucking hilarious. That said, Film is nice. Dude rips it. Lack of offers seems to indicate people aren't bothering because he's going to be a first rounder.
That and the fact that he was stuck behind a teammate that is now at WV. Probably spent his summers playing baseball instead of the camp circuit or playing 7v7.

Someone posted his “offer” a couple weeks back as a PWO offer. But everything I read was that there wasn’t certainty if it was a scholarship offer or not.

Who knows what will happen. Depends on how much he loves football compared to baseball.

Could go to ND and play both and see what happens. Could enter the draft later

He throws like a shortstop. We don't need another athletic QB who has these issues.

I see him projected as a late first rounder which would put him in the neighborhood of a $2.5 million draft bonus.

Considering that we badly need QB's and the kid who that is apparently the most likely candidate to be our 2023 QB is almost certainly going to go the baseball route and appears to be a project, Tommy boy shouldn't be allowed on campus ever again after this season.

Unless they can get a 2023 QB who has high upside then they're better off taking 2 QB's in the portal, even if 1 of them is an Ivy league grad transfer. I'd rather rent out 1-2 (depending on the COVID year) of a clipboard holder as opposed to having another clipboard holder on scholarship for 4 years.

Whats the point in bringing in a 3 star guy who isn't any better than what we have now, need to bring in someone who can start right away end of story.

Did you watch the film? How do you not know he's better than what we have? Kids film is better than plenty of 4 star dudes I've watched.

So he is gonna be ready to start next year? I doubt it

If that’s how you want to look at recruiting, we might as well stop recruiting all seniors in high school, almost none of them will start as a Freshman.

We have to build depth in the QB room. Doesn’t solve next years problem, but that doesn’t mean you don’t take him.

The only possibility that fits that logic is a five-star, and even then, some of them are not yet ready to start as true freshman. And to add, they are all signed up and committed. They can try to flip but most of them also have secured some ludicrous NIL deal.

If you are hoping for a top QB this cycle, you are going to be disappointed. And at this point it's self-inflicted. ND will land some 3-star QB and will go for a potential, experienced starter in the portal for next season.

I'm not really concerned about the stars. I just don't see the upside with this guy.

I'd rather they try to flip this kid:

????

Dante Moore might not be ready to start next year. Arch Manning either. So pass on them too?
The point is if we aren't upgraded what we have on the current roster it will be the same story next year and you may lose half of your WR's or current guys comitted.

I saw Roch play earlier this year, had a great game. That said. he's played 7 full games in his career after being WV's Nicco Marchiol's back up the past two years. 2 of those starts btw were as a Soph when Marchiol was injured. Since I saw him, he's missed the last month with an injury to his throwing arm. His stats will underwhelm everyone: 1100 yds in 26 games (7 full games with a lot of games bein just the holder). He shows no instincts running the ball, 114 yds / 3.4 ypc in his career.

I'm wondering wtf he's thinking even playing this season? And now he bangs up his throwing arm??? Tosh Baker level thinking here.

Why not just ask Carter Putz to join the team. I mean, he easily had the best HS career and he played for a real football program.

The point is the 2023 QB recruit isn’t relevant to the starting 2023 QB conversation, and dismissing a kid simply for that reason makes no sense

I'm fine with bringing in a low rated guy as long as the staff brings in a 1-2 year starting QB transfer

Just got back from the future. Here's Sr & Jr loading up the truck on Jan 10th.

It would be extremely funny if Tommy whiffed on his first 350 offers at QB, only to sign a kid who never enrolls because he got drafted.

That’s like the whole Tommy Rees QB Experience in one cycle.
That should qualify him for a ban from campus as opposed to just a ban from the football facility.
If we get Cholowski and Hillman, that's two potential QB's in the '23 class. Would you take 2 potential QB's over 1 4 star kid?
I'd rather keep Hillman as an athlete and bring in 2 grad transfer QB's even if 1 is an ivy leaguer.

It reeks of desperation, there is no universe where Notre Dame should be this behind in recruiting a QB. Even if you went all in on a five-star you should have had built relationships with these recruits for roughly two years, it should not be hard to get back into contact with them. It’s either the salesman or the product and that is a huge red flag.

Tommy is the OC and QB Coach/Recruiter/Evaluator, so the problem is the salesman *and* the product.

Cholowsky is coming as a baseball prospect. He may be a PWO candidate, but he's also one of the top SS prospects in the MLB draft. I don't expect him to make it to college at all.
