Maybe that's true. Again, Rees is responsible for the QB room.I'm not saying this is necessarily the case, but I think the question needs to be asked. What if Buchner just isn't all that good? Is it possible he just beat up on mediocre competition in HS?
Hate to break it to you, but Buchner had nothing to do with yesterday. He wasn’t even dressed as a matter of fact.I'm not saying this is necessarily the case, but I think the question needs to be asked. What if Buchner just isn't all that good? Freeman has no history.
Interesting point. There were some real clunkers in that two year stretch. From last year, Cincinnati, the Wisconsin game until the 4th quarter, Toledo until the 4th quarter and the entire second half against Okie State.2020 had a Joe Moore finalist OL, an elite RB in Kyren Williams and a 3rd year starter in Ian Book.
2021 had the offense playing like absolute garbage for half the season before finally getting it together and that was with a seasoned veteran in Jack Coan at QB, with Kyren Williams against at RB. He also had some solid receiving options sans Mayer in Davis and Austin.
This year, we have none of that, but a lot of it falls on him. We shouldn't have to be struggling to run the ball or find receivers against fucking Stanford. We should be getting more out of Styles. The fact that it took until the 3rd quarter to get Estime the ball is putrid. The fact that Pyne wasn't prepared to run the offense against one of the worst defenses in CFB is unacceptable.
He had safety nets the first two seasons that kept the offense solid. Those safety nets are gone, and it's on him to make something out of it, and he can't.
TB's HS stats had nothing to do with his eval. I think it was common consensus that his competition was pedestrian at best. That's why he was attempting to transfer his senior season -- to play better competition. His eval was based on his mental and physical traits. Unfortunately, due to injuries and covid he has been unable to get the game reps he needs to see whether or not he will be able to translate all that talent to the college level. The reality is, after two full years at Notre Dame, none of us will be any closer to figuring out whether or not TB has it or not and that's a damn shame. He'll be heading into year 3 with 2 starts under his belt over the prior 3 years. I suspect TB will forever be a "what if" at this rate.I'm not saying this is necessarily the case, but I think the question needs to be asked. What if Buchner just isn't all that good? And MAYBE that was a mistake???Yeah the notion that Rees was “forced” on Freeman seems pretty far-fetched to me. It may have been a marriage of convenience in the name of stability - and maybe that was a mistake - but he would not be the OC if Freeman wasn't on board with it.
“Unleash Rees’s Offense that I know for a fact was being held back by Kelly!”Just wait. After Rees is here a full year, he'll be dropping 52 on Bama.
Why worth the gamble????? We were a Top 5 Program w Kelly. Fickell was the obvious choice.
We all know why MF is the Coach.
Just say it. We know you want to. Go out in a blaze of glory. Why worth the gamble????? We were a Top 5 Program w Kelly. Fickell was the obvious choice.

Enlighten us. Please. Be a big boy and pull your dress up and say it. Don't leave inference like a weak troll. Come out of hiding. Why worth the gamble????? We were a Top 5 Program w Kelly. Fickell was the obvious choice.

Yeah, this scan stuff being the core offense makes no sense at this point. It probably looks really good on paper. I would rather see us run the wishbone than this.It would be cool if at least Freeman told him to drop the stupid “scan” offense. There is a reason literally no offense ever looked like this. It’s torture to watch and also doesn’t fucking work.
I would take literally anything else. Wing T. Fake punt every play. Annexation of Puerto Rico. Seriously anything. Just not this it’s giving me glaucoma.Yeah, this scan stuff being the core offense makes no sense at this point. It probably looks really good on paper. Ahhhh...the Delaware Wing-T.I would take literally anything else. Wing T. Fake punt every play. Annexation of Puerto Rico. Seriously anything. Just not this it’s giving me glaucoma.
Warren Ruggiero (Wake Forest)It may be time to create a OC wish list for the off-season. Anyone want to start it off?
He is the Coach because he was Kelly’s assistant. Players wanted him and clearly JS didn’t want to do a real search. Swarbrick was too reactive. Here we are.Enlighten us. Please. Be a big boy and pull your dress up and say it. Don't leave inference like a weak troll. Come out of hiding.
But....we all know why you aren't the coach......and hopefully a coach of anything.

That is the reason. I don't think that's in dispute, is it? And I'm not off the Freeman train yet, until we have a new OC.He is the Coach because he was Kelly’s assistant. Players wanted him and clearly JS didn’t want to do a real search. Swarbrick was too reactive. Here we are.
Well we will see where this goes. Right now he clearly looks out of place on the sidelines. I think have Rees put upon him by Swarbrick hasn’t helped and probably emasculated him to a degree. That is the reason. I don't think that's in dispute, is it? Charm and good looks? I think you’re missing one more item on that list.........he was a pretty good LB! Is his buyout more expensive than Fat Boy? What about Fatboy Jr as an OC?Rees should be canned. He’s a horrible coach, but Freeman is literally the most inexperienced and confused coach I’ve ever seen on a ND sideline. He got the job due to his good looks and charm and that is it. If he were a fat, short, white guy like BK, he’d have had to win multiple titles in D2, rebuild 2 D1 programs and coach for 25 years before he’d even get an interview at ND.

We need someone that can develop QBs.
