We need an offensive coordinator. Rees is not the answer. There is enough talent on the offense that it shouldn't be an embarrassment.
Maybe he isn't, but the fact is they have how many scholarship receivers?
And hiring Brian Hartline, who has never called plays for example, is only going to disappoint some of you guys. I can tell you that right now. It's easy to recruit and eat cake in the living room. Coordinating an offense and calling plays on the big stage is a whole new ball game. Brian Hartline is a good recruiter. Apart from that, his offensive accumen is totally unknown and is a serious gamble.
Rees knows what he has and what he sees in practice. He's gotta call what he thinks will work based on that. I was perplexed last night at times myself but at the end of the day your best player is a tight end. Few other teams in America can say that.
Rees has to be better and that starts with him brining in better talent. If he can't do that, he needs to go. I don't know if Ruggiero or Tom Herman would have been able to close some of the QB recruits in this class under the same circumstances, but maybe play the cards differently? Sure
