We are 10,000% not getting a QB in this class.

And the only reason that isn’t Tommy’s biggest recruiting failure as an OC is because he already knocked that out of the park with one WR in the last class.
Carr is reclassifying. Tommy will hold a boom box outside of Carr's house late at night if it has to come to that.

I will bet you one crisp, digital $1 bill that he doesn’t.
Believe me, I'd love it if Carr stayed in the 2024 class. Tommy boy will be denied his get-out-of-jail free card and whiffing at QB this cycle or having to settle for another clipboard holder will likely spell the end of his time here.

There's no reason to rock the boat if ND isn't even willing to extend an offer right now.

In general, the schools need the kid more than the other way around. Ex. We didn’t pull Keeley, Bowen etcs scholly. I doubt UCLA is in a position to do so.

I agree the kid probably doesn’t want to rock the boat as you said. Mentioned in the other thread they just had a kid flip to UGA. But if he thinks ND could be a better spot he has the right to do so, and they ain’t stopping him.

Have to think that we are a Chris Kleiman taking the Nebraska / Wisconsin job away from Avery Johnson if he's still talking to us.

Do we not think our QB is gonna be Brandyn Hillman? He's visiting Saturday and all signs point Irish. I know he's more ATH, but it seems like you get him in the fold and then work on a bigger flip between now and signing.

This skill position is class is bonkers.. Makes it even more fucked up that there isn't a QB.

Durham Smythe gave ND an idea, everybody gets a chance at QB. The defense won't have any idea what's going on!

I don't know what is more frustrating. The fact that as of right now a top-tier QB hasn't wanted to join the class given all of the offensive talent or that the staff has dropped the ball thus far.

It must be the OC that recruited Diggs, Fisher, Alt, Estime, Thomas and Styles. We like those guys.

Tommy is an asset on the trail and as an OC.

But, damn, it is so hard for me to understand the QB room.

He deserves a ton of credit for the skill guys they’re bringing in. He also deserves scrutiny for what’s going on with QB recruiting.

It's definitely not an ideal 2023 QB situation - but I think even if CJ Carr stays 2024 - there's a good argument for no **high school QB

2023 boiled down;
TOP TIER - Dante Moore - anyone else that's "elite" - picked one, LOST - this is the failure of the class. But it happened and its realistically over for the top.

OTHER QB's - From Minchey to Luke Duncan; all these players are crapshoots at the position.

As a staff the question has to arise; Do any of these possible late additions/flips get us closer to a championship than Buchner and Angeli? (and Pyne with 3 more possible years - but respectfully not driving a decision). If it's probably not and we're relying on Rees/staff evaluations of their current guys here, why take one?

However, if they take none, better sure as shit get into that transfer portal to grab one and a good one.
