It was a really good play call. Mayer was wide open and he somehow overthrew him.

What do you expect? Pyne is not very talented and we basically have one WR. Run the ball, throw screens and easy tight end stuff, lean hard on the defense. Hopefully that can get us to like 8-4, but it's going to be ugly and stressful every damn game.

He's a junior. With three years in Tommy's system. He's played before (albeit very little). It's fair to expect a little more.

Leaning on the defense will only get us so far. Losses to Clemson, BYU, USC, UNC are likely if we get into a shootout offensively.

I do believe Pyne will improve, but I just don't know how high his ceiling is at this point.

1) Hats off to Rees, Heistand and the Oline. They made improvements and gave Pyne and the RBs the windows they needed today.

2) This defense lacks discipline, but good to see the D line step up in the 4th when needed.

3) It really shouldn't have been as close as it was.

4) Someone should've given Pyne a Xanax before kickoff.
