Outside of him not practicing has anyone noteworthy mentioned that he might be injured? This is a genuine question, Ive been waiting to see anyone write on it.

Foot injury. Freeman to clarify to what extent at noon

That's like 4 ACL injuries over 4 years for that kid, and I think to both knees at different times.

That sucks, big time. Birm said he had been flashing in practice since getting fully healthy, too.
brutal indeed the other week they gave him some sort of team award too for his hard work

Thanks, hopefully mild. Alot of foot inquires have quick recovery times so fingers crossed. I know I am stating the obvious but he is important to have for OSU

I, a very highly tuned super athlete, broke my fifth metatarsal in early November. I was non-weightbearing for a month+, in a boot for three months, and wasn’t back to work until February, just past the four month mark. This was without surgery, but the timeline would have been similar even going under the knife. So if there’s a break somewhere in there, it’s gonna be a couple months minimum. Hopefully it’s just a sprain or something

Ohio St laying 15 week 1 against a stout defense is too many points.. I went heavy on ND plus the points..

Why won’t we be able to move the ball? We can create mismatches..

Buchner has all the talent necessary & runs better than Book did..

We roll out the best TE in the country with an absolute freak right behind him for double sets.

Lorenzo will take a huge step forward.. I know that’s not exactly a hot take but I really think it’ll be nationally recognized. There’s a depth issue but what’s available is plenty talented..

Diggs, Tyree, Estime? I mean.. behind an arguably top 5 O line?

The D is deeper than any we’re had in decades.. especially in the front 7. Joseph covers Hamiltons departure & there’s TONS of competition on the corners..

Unless they are just not coached well or prepared I see a very close game.

But what have they rolled out at that position that trumps ours? And ur omitting our most athletic pieces there
Fair enough, although presumably our most athletic pieces aren't starting for a reason. Hopefully Knowles doesn't cure what ailed Mitchell, Gaoteote, etc. Those are talented dudes.

Though it looks like our lads has the latter fourth string. If OSU has true freshmen out there, five stars or not, I'll certainly feel better about this.

Bertrand, Kiser and Bauer though?
I’d say doubtful this is the starting LB’s. I realize there have been times where those 3 have repped together with the 1’s but I’ll bet that has more to do with load management for Liufau than anything else. Now, with that said, it does have me a little concerned they feel the need to do that this long after his injury.

I think it should be concerning, as I'm also curious to see how he's used this fall. There is a possibility he's a subpackage player only to keep his reps down which means he's still getting up to speed. We'll have a lot more answers in two weeks.

Rumor on some other boards is golden is a bend don’t break prevent type guy. Anyone know if that’s fact or fiction? Weak sauce D is a big reason we lost the bowl game from my pov.

Eh, I’d be fine with that against OSU with an elite safety like Joseph in there which is what was missing against OSU lite. Take the big play away from OSU and make them work their way down field.

The line has moved to 16.5 but the ML odds have gone in NDs favor even after Patterson injury

It’s Freeman’s defense with tweak from Golden.

Foot Sprain, possibly back for OSU
They shouldn’t rush him b/c he could make things worse and be lost for the season (and affect his NFL stock). Kristofic should be able to hold down the position for one game. It sucks but (from reading what ND talking heads are saying) this is one of those games that ND’s best bet is to not get blown out. I know the kids & coaching staff don’t feel that way but it’s true. How many Irish starters would start for ND and vice versa?

Patterson will play is my guess. He can take the next 4-5 weeks off.

Yeah let's throw in the towel. We just want to cover the spread. Let's play to keep it close.

To hell with that. I want to see the Irish come out throwing haymakers on both sides of the ball. Hit Stroud as many times as possible, until he's hobbling around demoralized and in a daze.

Some of our fans suffer from the worst kind of mediocre Stockholm syndrome

Man, we get no respect. Purdue's spread would be about 20. I would love to enter one of the games and not be a 2 touchdown underdog.

I rarely bet, but I’m going to get in on 16.5.
I'm not a big sports betting guy, especially when it comes to ND. I'm all over that 16.5 though. I'm good to wait for one of those risk free bet promo's and bet the max on it. My friends are real big into sports betting. They can't believe I don't do it since I trade stocks daily. I give them this analogy. The market is the game played, the stocks the player and I'm the manager/coach. In sports betting I have no control over the outcome. But yeah, give me16.5 and the Irish. Money line is at +482

The last time I made a sports bet was on Holyfield to beat Tyson. I bet my rent money but it worked out alright (I made enough to cover the next couple of year’s rent 😁.)

I would take that bet however i don't think we win. I think its a close more high scoring game than a defensive battle. I think we lose the turn over battle. I think this game shows that this team can paly with out getting blown out. I am thinking like 45-39. Again just my opinion. Both teams have new defensive coordinators even though our defense with still be the least changed. Their offense is going to challenge our defense. I think it'll be a very good game but we come away with the L.

I love the Irish but I'm not going to let myself get too optimistic on the road in Freemans first real game as head coach with an unproven QB (who I really like btw) against the best offense in the country. We have a punchers chance but don't give Vegas all your money.

I think it’s a style nightmare for ND that they lose handily (likely because of turnovers on O and Ohio State attacking the weakness of our defense). But 17 points? Tempting.
