Unironically, USC and UCLA leaving the Pac 12 is great neg recruiting fodder. Conference is going to be the least relevant P5 conference and Oregon will more or less never be in prime time.
This. Dante will never make a playoff at Oregon. Might as well be a MAC conference with Oregon vs Utah. Always a #8 type team and that’s if undefeated. Lose to anyone else and outside T10. . Might as well be Jackson State now. But 3-4 million and Nike jobs is a Jackson State type deal fosho.

The problem is we might not be in a great spot either if we are still stuck playing more than half our games against the ACC, Stanford & Navy, plus whatever buy game we get in there.
But we’ll still be on TV every week.

I'd love the back story on all this, If he wanted ND and loved it then why hasn't it happened yet? It was said that he knew CJ was coming to ND all along so why would that throw a wrench in things? These guys talk what changed. Like someone said I think he ends up back here when it's said and done.

At this point seems clear he wanted ND (and told ND so) until the bags started getting dropped for QBs, decided to prolong his process and was not fulfilling NDs expectations, so they moved on.

I’m curious on their position with Oregon now that the Pac12 is seemingly falling apart.
IMO, doubtful that even registers with them at the moment. Maybe it will eventually but they botched this recruitment and need to find a home for Dante from a school that will pay.

Not if he signs a huge NIL deal with Phil Knight. Transferring for these 5-star QBs will mean walking away from millions.
That they aren't able to land elsewhere?

Oregon is ranked 37th right now on Rivals for their 2023 class. 5th in the Pac 12. If Phil Knight has all this money where are the verbals?

Either way, I'm probably inclined to agree with Luckylucci that I doubt these recruits are even thinking about the news from yesterday about SC and UCLA.

Meanwhile, Loy has been “seeing how things play out after the weekend” for the last two weeks now
Feel like he’s just stalling till Dante announces. Don’t know why he feels likes he owes **** to Dante Moore. He gets overly attached to QB prospects.

Because if he "bad mouths" one, that could ruin his credibility with future recruits.
Would hate his job - way too much butt kissing involved

I don’t mean owe him something as in he should spill the beans as much as if he’s gonna commit to Oregon soon say he’s gonna commit to Oregon soon like ISD did.

So this is what I dont get and how can these pre-determined deals be anything else than enticing a player to come to your school which violates one of the only two rules established for NIL that are in anyway enforceable?

If Oregon has told Dante ( before he signs or plays) that he will get x number of dollars and his parents get jobs at Nike... how the hell is ok and doesnt violate at least the rule on enticement ( even if its through a third party)

No, it just seems like he has said "wait til after the weekend" for about the last 3 weekends, while providing nothing of substance on the situation
He's probably just trying to milk the views while he still can. Once Dante commits his engagement is going to drop bigly

Why would a booster give a recruit millions of dollars if the kid could just transfer to another school the next year and keep it all? Drafting a contract like that would be legal malpractice. If these NIL deals are real, then they're going to limit the recruit's options for transfer--implicitly if not explicitly.

Are these contracts paid out over a set period of time? Is there a “signing bonus”?

Who knows? I haven't seen a credible leak of any one of these record-breaking NIL deals. It could all be smoke and mirrors.

But to the extent real money is changing hands here, you can bet these recruits can't just take the money and run. So no, assuming Dante takes the bag from Phil Knight, he won't be able to "just transfer" down the line, because he'll likely be walking away from millions if he chooses to do so.
