Not sure if he’s on this board or not, but honestly don’t care. The latest podcast was just Mike and Jamie because Matt was… at an Apple store. It made the podcast much easier to listen to not having to hear Matt unprepared and seemingly annoyed by every question Mike threw his way. He may or may not be good at providing recruiting content, idrk, but man is he incredibly annoying to listen to on the podcasts.
I am Driskell.

Is there a story behind why EJ Holland no longer covers Notre Dame? I listed to about 15 minutes of his recent twitter space and he mentioned “Notre Dame trolls” about a half dozen times. Notre Dame lives in his head rent free and he does a terrible job hiding it.

Maybe EJ is living in our head rent free?
Hardly. He's a clown whose coping amuses us, and he's rightly mocked here for it whenever he has to gall to write about ND or one of our recruits (though I'd prefer we not link to his content, since he doesn't deserve the clicks.)

Holland, on the other hand, is clearly searching for his name on other message boards. It's pathetic behavior, but I guess a guy in his position has to take whatever solace he can find.

EJ got the ability to emote (like, laugh etc) on an opposing board taken away on all of On3 because ND fans would just laugh at all of his really dumb posts

I usually would agree that the amount of attention he gets could be overboard but his ND commentary is frequent and intentionally misleading and/or derogatory at times.

After exploring the various talking heads for a few weeks, a few things have become clear:

- Tim, Tim & Pete are the most polished and professional, even if they are not always first to the scoop. Imo, it’s the best product.

- Driskell is a hack as a journalist and “publisher”, as he refers to himself. Really wish he would just stick to film analysis. Incredibly thin-skinned. Would like to see Vince D. leave that outfit and join II in some capacity— he’s a good dude.

- Singer is ok. But, when I watch him or listen to him it just seems like there are too many chefs in the kitchen of ND football media. Need to thin the herd.

- I like Mike Frank, also seems like a decent dude. Not the most polished, but I feel like that is due more to Matt Freeman —he’s got this angsty millennial vibe that is very off putting.

End of the day — for me, Irish Illustrated is the most consumable on the regular. The others just seem like hangers on, but I’ll tune in from time to time.

agree with the takes....vince just parrots everything driskell says...it's really annoying and i couldn't listen anymore and freeman sounds like he can't catch his breath and seems bothered to answer any questions he is asked...hands down tim,tim and pete...although i enjoy mike's fan hood and presents that side none of the others do

Agree wholeheartedly. To ABC's point, I would like to counter with a quote from the great Ron Swanson: "When one Jerry leaves, the office naturally selects a new Jerry to fill that role. It's Social Darwinism - the strong prey on the weak. Soon, one of you will be ridiculed mercilessly. Ha! Nature."

We no longer have Koon, we now have EJ Holland. It's really that simple.

100%. This where I am at on all of it. One Foot Down is great for a long form laugh fest with just enough irish talk for it to fit the genre. Her Loyal Sons podcast was always pretty low on my list but sometime after the trump election went full woke and became just offensive piss whining by spoiled brat millennials. Rakes report is also a good listen.

Said he's going to Mexico for a week. Is there more to the story?
There was a history at BGI of mods going on vacation then never coming back.
Singer knows this.
So he titles the thread, “It’s been a fun ride everyone…”
Then opens “being the recruiting writer for Blue and Gold…”

So he is obviously trying to get the “please don’t go” response he craves. He did the same thing at Rivals.

I was thinking he was playing the “I need the reassurance card” as well.

EJ has made that entire message board believe Carr was a plan B guy. The guy could say the sky is green and they would believe it.

Does anyone know who's doing the NBC broadcast this year?
I thought I read that Tirico and Brees were both out.

Carr is actually older than most at the 11 camp. He was held back a year. The Carr family knows what they are doing - gotta hand it to them.
Even if he were a young senior (he’s only a few months older than most juniors as he turned 17 at the very very end of his sophomore year), he is hands down a top 10 QB and likely top 5 in ‘23. He turned 17 what, in June? I turned 17 in October of my junior year (so I was 4 months younger than CJ) and I was right in the middle of the pack. He clearly would’ve punched his ticket to the Elite 11 finals if he were allowed (he had the highest score for the entire season). Next year he’ll end up T3 QB imo. It’s not as much about age as experience. He’s not even played his junior season of football and he’s out performing the $9 million poster boy for NIL.

Clausen family strategy lol, didn't they hold every one of their kids back so they could be 20 year old college freshmen

If Singer really is gone, I will not miss him. Easily the least high effort guy on the beat. He openly brags about not preparing before video podcasts etc. Really off putting.
lol yup most recently on his Novosad offer video "watch me react to his tape for the first time" haha hes a spoofer
