Agree 1000%I'm at the point now that even if some how he has a change of heart and ends up at ND this is no doubt a Gunner Kiel 2.0. he'll never take a meaningful snap

I regret posting in the political threads. I should’ve never clicked on any of the threads. But I went down the rabbit hole and I’m having trouble getting out. I’m here because I love Notre Dame football. I should’ve just “stuck to sports.”Thanks?
2nd this, bipolar vibes for all 4 quarters. I've posted my fair share of garbage hot takes in those. And the game day threads
You’re doing great over there. I love the transparency.I regret posting in the political threads. I should’ve never clicked on any of the threads. But I went down the rabbit hole and I’m having trouble getting out. I’m here because I love Notre Dame football. I should’ve just “stuck to sports.”
EJ sounds like a fun guyHe worked for BGI for Stu Coman at Rivals before going to start his own thing at SI Maven. He left there in 2019 to go to his new site.
I can tell stories about EJ back from his time at 247 Texas site. And how he burned every bridge at 247 to get to BGI, then immediately jump to the Wolverine. Then he started attacking other reporters from ND & UM sites on Twitter.
I kind of see him as a message board guy armed with a job title and a little media access who is living his life long dream contacting high school recruits. I feel like he could get fired and blackballed from the industry and still contact recruits.EJ sounds like a fun guy
I heard he supported Kelly until some 2011 Vandy Post Game conference where Kelly, not surprisingly, out-dicked him and then he became the lead Kelly hater. The subtext on the ISD thing is that he used to work there. And then he left to be a D2 WR coach and that didn’t go well, and so he came back to ISD and Mike Frank hired him back. And like… a lot of people weren’t happy about him being hired back because he had been a dick to them. I’ll skip most of the other details and just say that — after Mike had really gone out on a limb for him to give him a second chance — he then left to start a direct competitor. And fwiw, another ISD writer had passed on the offer from Maven to start the ND team site before they went to Driskell.
So he has bad blood with those guys, but he also has beef with Prister and 247 and I’m not sure who else for different reasons. For example, some of those guys accused or alluded to him of stealing their content and passing it off as their own.
No one has ever been hated on the beat like EJ Holland was though holy shit. I thought he might get punched by someone.
This is the outline I remember, especially the "Who the hell does this guy think he is?" reaction I gave to Driskell when listening to him torment poor Mike Frank and give his superficial film room comments. The subtext on the ISD thing is that he used to work there. Michigan is just getting nothing. LOL.
Literally. It will be interesting to see how they fill this class.Michigan is just getting nothing. LOL.
Time to turn up the heat on Jackson Arnold. IIRC we either lead or he wanted to come but the staff went all in on Dante. He's teammates with Peyton Bowen, so hopefully he can get in his ear.

I would guess the difference is a green light from Moore's side of the equation.I'm not doubting he was a silent to ND at some point. However, all the experts held off on CBs. What is different with that and what is happening now with him and Oregon to make it that experts are throwing their CBs in?
I don't think people understand how an endowment works. Most of it isn't comprised of a giant slush fund. Most of it is gifts with very specific uses. If the thought is that "x school has a big endowment so they'll be able to also raise money for football" then maybe, maybe not. It's a sign that they have wealthy contributions to the school. Was reading their board and they are at an all time low. Many are conceding to a futur of 20-30 range ranked classes.
I will say, if Michigan turns the heat up on NIL, they are dangerous. They have one of the largest endowments, right at NDs level. Of course nobody can compare to Harvard. Texas is the biggest P5, so obviously very dangerous too.
Stanford is a good example. Massive endowment. Far far (like $20 + billion far) bigger than any of the teams paying absurd money. Don’t give a damn about football. But if the big dogs wanted, it’d be a nerd fest.https://www.usnews.com/education/be...s/10-universities-with-the-biggest-endowmentsI don't think people understand how an endowment works. It all depends on how much priority the wealthy alum give to the various sports.
I checked them out since I've been back. Going to sit those out. I'm good. Real good.I regret posting in the political threads. I should’ve never clicked on any of the threads. Most of the time it's even more restrictive than that. Not only is the money limited to specific uses, but it's usually only the income generated by the principal in the endowment is that available for that purpose on an annual basis. So on a 4% spend model, ND's $12.3b endowment would generate about $500m in income a year.I don't think people understand how an endowment works. Most of it isn't comprised of a giant slush fund.
