This will be an interesting one to someday get significant background on. Although still not 100% on what davonte did so I won’t hold my breath
Oh there’s absolutely a fascinating story to be told about this entire recruitment.

Consider me baffled about all of this. I've generally been around recruiting long enough to read the tea leaves but nothing anybody is saying about this situation tracks with logic.

He gonna mess around and end up with his plan C option and then we will be led to believe he was all in on Mississippi State and the air raid the whole time lol

Man. Really seems like the Moore's over estimated their value here. Most of all the schools he visited have moved on.
We’ll see how this plays out but when you string coaches along, they’re eventually going to get tired of it. Especially when so much was at stake for you and your commitments.

I want a big time 2023 QB in the worst way but part of me is completely satisfied with these turn of events.

Is the assumption that we would not accept a public commitment from Dante at this time?

Pretty much all of IE trying to keep up with this QB recruiting cycle nonsense:

Sure sounding like there was a come to Jesus moment in there and it ended with a GFY

Unlikely that he will try to commit, or unlikely that we will continue to push for a commitment?

Loy has said a number of times today that MF and Rees are likely gonna stop pushing for him.

As another IE poster wisely said today, it seems Dante overplayed his hand.

His loss. TB is our guy and we have another 5* coming in who is, by all estimations, even a little better. (no sour grapes)

I wish Dante all the best, but this is on him and the staff's belief in TB. Go get a neat 4* prospect in the 23' cycle and let's roll.

No I have been saying you need your qb all bought in and recruiting his team. If he has no interest in recruiting his team, it is a bad sign for whoever gets him.

Idk about you guys but I'm already starting to look at that new name Loy dropped as a QB to watch (Dale made a thread) + potential new offers

I think we convinced ourselves or talked ourselves out of a lot of baggage and red flags to get to this point in the recruitment.

In the 11 years I have been on this site, I have never disagreed with you and am certainly not going to start now. I think his recruitment is very similar to Carnell Tate just with more subtlety. I think it may be the actual plan to be the last top ten qb uncommitted and then maximize a bidding war.

I haven't said very much on this topic but ND was never going to follow an extended time line for him. Their has either been a miscommunication or different route taken. Again another reason that we should have stayed in the race for some of the other QB's that are now committed. This was and still is a very low percentage of landing Moore.

Loy said today that if/when ND lands CJ Carr, they will no longer be recruiting Dante Moore, barring a change of heart.

On the other hand maybe 🤔 he is on the correct five star track blazed by Tate Martell, Blake Barnett and Hunter Johnson.

Seems like this is an unfortunate risk because Moore & Co. insisted on stretching this thing out until the fall. Not getting Moore puts a ton of pressure on Rees and the rest of the offensive staff to make sure Buchner is the man for the next two years.

If Loy is to be believed and ND will be out, Dante will likely wind up at A&M when they miss out on Rashada.

I think sampson and other insiders were always a little worried about Oregon and considerably worried about tamu which is the tell that they always thought maybe he would just go to highest bidder.

Why on earth would you stop recruiting him altogether? I'd like to hear that explained in a logical way.

I could understand the standpoint of 'were going to consider some other options now as well but the door is always open for Dante to commit'. But why would landing a '24 cause you to drop a '23 at any position? If Cam Williams were to commit should we stop recruiting Rico Flores and just offer Malik Elzy?

This is correct. But I think we go from presumed leader to potential landing spot if his other plan A’s fill up.

Maybe Carr really is planning on reclassifying.

This has been clearly what the plan was for DM since the dominos started falling.
