Dante Moore followed by CJ Carr would be the greatest recruiting gets in my lifetime. For so many reasons.

Some fun quotes from the Michigan boards.

"Who cares. Honestly not worried about it. I like Lloyd and the Carr family but we all know Lloyd was no saint either. As long as we have jackhammer Harbaugh we’ll be in the mix every year."

"Best of luck to him. As the basketball program might say, “for competitors only.”"

"Transformational….not transactional!!! Lol we are so behind"

"Every single program in the Midwest has more momentum than us. Let’s not act like this isn’t hurting us badly. Not saying carr specifically was looking for a bag, but this is no way to recruit with the current times."

"I'm not usually a "sky is falling" guy when it comes to recruiting but I gotta say this is really bad. And if we lose out on both Moore and Carr...man, I would start to listen to the "Weiss is bad recruiter" talks."

"You gotta start questioning the staffs recruiting when we can’t even grab an elite local qb who’s grandfather was a long time coach here. On top of that, losing him to ND. Just straight up embarrassing. How hard of a sell is that? Absolutely unacceptable."

LOL. Wow Mich fans have zero clue. Play in a pathetically weak conference with one decent opponent who has rolled you for a decade and all of a sudden you can talk trash? Wow

I agree. But you gotta love a 5 star QB that doesn't want to play games. He knows where he wants to be and wants to recruit for the program. Thats the kid we need!
This right here. A throwback.

What about the likelihood of Carr reclassifying to 23’? If that is realistic, that changes things for Moore obviously.

I'd rather have Carr '23 and Sayin '24, then have nobody '23 and Carr '24. Just Sayin.

Loy recently said that he wasn't ruling out the possibility. Would have to think some of that decision lies with what Moore does.

Carr is older than Moore, fyi
Not sure why they would "have" to get another QB.
Competition. Nothing more.

Then again, Carr would set up the '24 class for a T5 finish. That would make 3 T5'ish classes. That's how you win a title.

I am not a fan at all of skipping a class at any position, ever. Especially not at the most important position on the field. If Moore decides that he doesn't want to come to ND because Carr commits, and Carr doesn't want to reclassify, ND should 100% go after another QB in the 23 class. Whether it's Avery Johnson, Marco Lainez, Rickie Collins, or whoever else.

At least 1 QB in every recruiting class is an absolute must, otherwise you end up with a 2010 situation where you had Dayne Crist, a walk-on, and a bunch of freshmen.

That's a pretty apples to oranges comp
With the transfer portal rules now, ND could easily scoop up a good 1 year rental. (and have already).

Literally any QB we’re in on for 23/24 >>>>>>>> Jack Coan.
I was comparing to the 2010 and 2011 years, like the previous poster.

Additionally, ND could have gotten a Kedon Slovis this year, if they wanted to have him start over TB. Which obviosly they didn't need to. Again, I want one a year. But there are more work arounds then over before with reclassifying, red-shrirting, and transfer portal.

Not the same era as 2010 and 2011

You take a QB in every class. Between transfers and injuries and flameouts, you need the bodies. Even if it's "just" a three-star. Who knows they might turn out to be Ian Book.
