Gave up their 7th rounder to move up 10 spots. Must have thought he wouldn’t be there for much longer

Happy for him but he is going to be a problem in the McVay system for the Niners, I think he will be their # 2 pretty quickly and Akers isn't going to be that far ahead.

Well I think he was hoping for 3rd round and expecting 4th. He got 5th at the tail end. Gonna be a lot less money. I think a good bowl game sure would have helped. Maybe he thought he could run a 4.5 40 or better. I think he will get a lot of play time due to his flexibility and the Rams lack of a A1 caliber RB. Probably also good he came out early as the RB room looks like it would involve more sharing and less Carries. Hope he got his degree.

He led the team by quitting on them in the biggest game of the year to protect a third day draft stock.

Keep sniffing that jock though, fan boy.
You PEOPLE never get it.;

As in you Confederates.

This ain't a plantation and you ain't Monsieur Candy.

What really burns your grits is this, though, isn't it?

.he top pick in the fifth round gets a $698,619 salary and a four-year, $3.64 million contract. The fifth-round salaries range from $698,619 to $669,444. Players selected in the sixth round will get a salary ranging from $662,972 to $642,353. The first pick of the sixth round gets a $662,972 salary as part of a four-year, $3.5 million deal.
So what really fries you is that an African American kid from St. Louis (and I mean St. Louis, no Ladue)

is going to be living La Vida Loca

playing in SoFI

running screens underneath while Coope Kupp goes deep

feeling that soft touch from Matthew Stafford

while you're still stuck, typing, hatin' your usual routine.

Too bad M'sieur Candy, Kyren is Django and i KNOW you hate it.

As I have considered the views in this thread, I am thinking we might as well shut down the season for every team except the playoff teams. And of those 4, whoever the odds are against winning it all might as well forfeit their playoff games as well.

Because heck, Lord knows they all probably have multiple players who could be selected in the draft, and if we're weighing a kid/family versus a natty for your school. I mean what does a title really do for YOU? You could be missing out on millions while your school gets all the glory of a title.

So, you know, why not just keep it to the top two teams play who actually have a shot. And if one of the top two is favored by more than a touchdown then, really, should they even play the championship game? I mean there are kids with families that have millions of dollars hanging in balance.

I don't know about you but I am starting to question whether they should even play any games at all. I mean, football is a violent sport, and you know, guys could get hurt if they are out their playing tackle football. And you know, these kids got millions of dollars on the line for them and their families. So, you know, I'm thinking they probably shouldn't even play the season and just wait until the draft.

Exactly. If you're a player who could get drafted, even in the 6th or 7th round.....shut it down after two losses. The NFL has seen your film. Heck, even if you're considered a priority UDFA. They get a nice signing bonus. Could change your life I guess. More than an ND degree, apparently.
New Year's Day bowls mean nothing. Regular season games mean less than nothing. Shut the team down and prepare for next year. Wouldn't want to work these poor souls more than they need to be worked on the 'plantation'.. (the dollar store unabombers words, not mine)

So what are the 3rd or 4th round rookie salaries? If he gets a minor injury that keeps him from running his slow 40’s and other less than stellar combine numbers he might actually have been drafted sooner. If he does okay the bowl game and has one of his usual good all around games and does not get injured not to mention we win does he stay in the back end of the 5th round! Not to mention the credibility of being a team first guy. Not sure how many of the draftees picked before him that weren’t part of the playoff sat out? I’m are all 4 years of that rookie contract guaranteed? I think he will show he would have been worthy of a third round pick or better. He has all the skills needed of a 3 down back and can block as good as any pro out there. Good luck to him. Hamilton would have increased his stock by playing as well. Just don’t expect this of ND players. Given the results of guys coming out early at ND maybe more will stay a year longer and play in the bowl games. The backfield is stacked this year so we shouldn’t miss him. I also think the numbers from our safety transfer will exceed Hamilton’s but I don’t see him being a first round talent.

I wish him well. I loved watching him play for the Irish and think he will outplay his draft position. His willingness to pick up the blitz will serve him well at the next level.
