Welcome!

I agree with you. All the best beat writers and prognosticators say exactly what you're saying.

If it doesn't happen... it would be a shock. But let's not pretend we're in a bad way with QBs right now.

TB is a stud. Hes gonna be for a couple years. We'll be fine either way.

What's Driskell saying?

Gratuitous cheap shot alert.

Color me disappointed. I thought this would be over within a day or two of this visit.

I worry how Nico’s price tag and commitment effects this recruitment.

If there is genuine interest in Oregon from Moore you know they will be willing to pay in NIL.

How often do you disappoint yourself with unrealistic expectations?

I am surprised by the amount of people out there who were expecting a commitment. Anyone who was in the know leading up to this week never saw it as a possibility. I would venture to assume Freeman and Rees were not expecting one.

Not that we all wouldn't have LIKED a commitment, but at no point were most considering it as an outcome for the visit.

I think people were hoping that there would be some indication that he's closer to a decision. Instead he's talked about taking OVs.

FWIW, I'm not bothered by the fact that ND decided to focus in on one guy for the QB chase if it improves their chances of landing the top choice. And the sky won't fall if ND is left scrambling for a '23 QB.

It’s either a very elaborate smokescreen for shock factor with his commitment (as they’re getting the beat writers involved) or a fairly significant shift.

Of note, Trieu posted after that article that he expected they wouldn’t take OV’s. Calls it a “new wrinkle”. Expects them to take all 5 and says he’s not taking visits just to take visits.

Yesterday Loy repeated that based on what Moore was telling the staff they expected an April commitment. Now there “are other factors at play”, that have changed that.

So there are new offers promising up front NIL and he's going to consider those before making a decision, and ND hasn't stepped up with anything like that which would seal the deal.

Yeah like I said I would put my confidence level right now at like a 20% chance ND lands him. I could see a school like Miami poney up millions to get him to come there.

Got to love the upfront, legal bagmen these days...

Is this what you've heard, or what you think is going on?

To LAX’s post, his dad did say some of these OV’s would be to places he hasn’t been before.

My first thought when I read that yesterday, though total speculation, was Texas A&M. We’ll just have to see if that actually gets setup or which ones do.

I don’t think saying OVs will be taken is a big deal until he actually does. If his dad said, nope we’re shutting it down soon, then that takes away from his announcement which it sounds like is something he wants to do in front of family and friends.

The common line with Dante when a spring decision gets mentioned is he’s grown tired of the process. So if we assume it’s not a smokescreen, it’d guess it would also be new schools giving intrigue, not Michigan or LSU or someone changing the tides

That’s me parsing that quote.

To be completely honest on what I’ve “heard” is that Dante is what you would call a silent. But that info is weeks old and I never trust silent commits.
Exactly, I think we could field a national championship side with the silents we've reportedly had the past 15 years.

The constant speculation on this young man is exhausting. I can see why he would be exhausted with the process. I would think ND would know something is up if you see them reach out to Vizzina or even Jackson Arnold in the very near future.

I guess we will see how this plays out I think worst case scenario is he holds off on committing and takes all his visits. Ideally this is a worst case scenario where we could be caught with our pants down. Best case and ideally you want your QB to commit early so he can help build the class.

You guys need to relax. If he in fact does take visits and cash in on NIL money, there’s sure to be a fringe 3 star who has a great senior season who can be the next Ian Book out there.
