Not going to pay attention til he makes it to campus
Not going to pay attention til he makes it to campus
He’s already been to campus once. So, there is a chance we could still get 2 or 3 visits before he’s ready to decide. That’s big. But, the whole I’m going to visit for 3 games that then turned into 0 was bizarre.
And this is the “small” stuff that is just bizarre about this recruitment. Spiegelman got quotes on 4 teams that weren’t ND. But threw in ND in at the end to say he has a good relationship with Freeman. Then posted it on the BGI board.

Cant tell if ND is being used for the hype and clicks or if the public is being intentionally misled for shock factor.
My hunch tells me that something pissed him off that ND either said or did. Maybe he found out he wasn't high enough on their board or what but something obviously went south for him to post that top 12.
Loy thinks he pull the upset here
Premium from Christian at ISD.
The Latest | Notre Dame & 2023 CB Malik Muhammad | Irish Sports Daily
Not gonna lie... that article is a joke. I expect better from ISD. It took someone in the comments section asking WHY ND got left out of his top-12 for Christian to say that there isn't an answer for that.
How are you gonna generate clicks about ND being 'in the mix' based on quotes and NOT get that tiny piece of info in there too?
Because right now, unless they are purposely helping Malik mislead everyone... getting assurances that ND is in the mix without getting an answer about why they weren't listed in his top-12 is just another "sources inside the Gug feel good" click-bait piece.
Lol so our competition are the 4 best programs of the last 5 years. No sweat.
No LSU?
Outside of the NC year, LSU has averaged 7.5 wins and 4.5 losses in the last 5 years. OU has a better claim for "top 5 program" than them.
This is exactly what has happened with a handful of guys. Is what it is, I think ND is actually doing a pretty darn good job right now of "showing not telling" but they aren't going to be competitive to players who are only looking for an NIL contract prior to signing.Random bump, but was looking for something unrelated on the Michigan board and came across about Muhammad. Sounds like the sudden lack of interest in ND might be NIL related as anyone wanting to recruit him will have to be aggressive with the NIL money.
Is this a bit more optimistic than you portrayed regarding MF a couple months ago? Wasn't there some more worry NIL would negate MF's recruiting? This is exactly what has happened with a handful of guys. We aren't really going to know where ND stands with some guys (even some commits) until after the summer. But I'm relatively confident that Freeman's "floor" is about what we were seeing for Kelly's "ceiling"... and it probably would've been a lot better were it not for some NIL factors.
I'm totally ready to balance out LAX on this... hold onto your butts:Is this a bit more optimistic than you portrayed regarding MF a couple months ago? Wasn't there some more worry NIL would negate MF's recruiting?
I think it's going to mitigate his recruiting prowess but I don't think it will negate it. There are a lot more guys that will want to play for him than wanted to play for Kelly AND he is casting a wider net AND he is working harder. As long as he is taking enough Plan B options, then losing guys to NIL offers is not going to put his "floor" below what we were seeing from Kelly. His biggest exposure will be schools that have holes in their recruiting classes coming in with desperate boosters at the 11th hour saying "here's $300k to sign with us next month" and he needs to make sure that he is backfilled at those positions where there is that risk.Is this a bit more optimistic than you portrayed regarding MF a couple months ago? Sadly, this is something that could absolutely happen. I think that ND needs to give Freeman *at least* 4 years to settle in before doing something rash. But the timing really couldn't be worse for him.I'm totally ready to balance out LAX on this... hold onto your butts:
I'm totally prepared for the NIL stuff to ruin what would appear to be a fast track to big wins for Freeman and ultimately derail his tenure here... The NIL stuff will get under reasonable control a year or two after Freeman is let go for some Davie level coach.
Gotcha. Makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.I think it's going to mitigate his recruiting prowess but I don't think it will negate it. ACamp, has the prediction poll drought caused you to lose your pessimism outlet?I'm totally ready to balance out LAX on this... hold onto your butts:

I see you know me well,…ACamp, has the prediction poll drought caused you to lose your pessimism outlet?
We’re obviously hiring Urban after Freeman
