Unless the players think they (the owners) won't prorate salaries for a shortened season not making a deal now really doesn't make sense from the players standpoint. Am I missing something?

Delaying the season they just add another item to bargain about, and it has much bigger ramifications than how many 3rd year players go to arbitration.

The particulars and the details are designed to fry our brains.

This boils down to one thing: owning a baseball team is good business because and the owners can afford to pay players a little bit more.

I read where it takes 8 votes to squash anything amongst the owners. There are at least 8 teams that have shown zero interest in winning or even competing. If there are ownership groups willing to prove they’ll invest in a winner (not just salary money but infrastructure, analytics, etc), I’d love to see hostile takeovers of existing ownerships who are just pocketing money under the cover of “we are just a poor, small market team being outspent by the evil empires”. Bullshit…sell your team.

When is news NOT NEWS.

Baseball has fired all is bullets and trying to whore its way to returned popularity,

Used to be, Al regular season versus NL regular season

Then they went multiple all star games

Then the DH

The the juiceball which was not enough for scumbags like Barry Bonds who juiced MORE

Then idiiot boy Bud clueless Selig

Then divisions

Then interleague play, the MESSIAH of baseball

All the whoring has n ot worked.

As people went to college they became more interesed in football and basketball

They are playing, baseball, the whore's game, but the NFL whore has larger breasts and a more willing mouth

The atrophy has been almost linear, and will continue, IF they ever play again

Inside the five at the goal line. It is sounding promising. There will be baseball. Just not the Pirates. If Scott Boras says so.

At least the angels value Trout. My Braves are gonna let Freeman walk. Ugh

He's 32 years old and they likely can't outbid the Dodgers and or Yankees. I think he's going to the Dodgers. Just a sneaking suspicion there.

Welp Freeman is gone and we get stuck with Olsen. A right handed line up only gets more right handed.

Olson is a LHH. And using WAR he was better than Freeman last year. Also two years of team control and two years younger.

We're hardly "stuck" with him.

Feels like we gave up a ton of our farm instead of just paying Freeman, but we'll see

We did only to be in this exact same situation in 2 years. It’s a terrible move. But that’s what happens when the corporate guys get their way. Oh and we don’t have anyone close to being ready to play center field.

Cincinnati will receive Justin Dunn, Brandon Williamson and Jake Fraley from the Mariners for Winker and Suarez, per source

You mean Ender Inciarte? Braves released him last summer and finished the season in the minors somewhere, He went from being good to terrible in the blink of an eye in about 2019 or so.
Yes sorry on the spelling. He was pretty bad the last couple years so I'm guessing he's currently available to fill in until Acuna is ready. Kidding of course.

Freeman officially a Dodger. Terrible decision by the Braves front office. Though Freddie and his agent did have a play in this.

Braves get Olson the lock him up for 8 years. Freeman was the Modern day Chipper. This is gonna be hard to watch this team.

IIRC, he won a Platinum Glove and had 200+ hits before his production just fell off a cliff.

At least you locked up Olson vs renting him for a season. Not saying he brings to the table what Freeman did but he’s much younger and could still be a good fit. He’ll have more protection in that Braves lineup than he did in Oakland.

The Dodgers are the super team that everyone will love to hate.

Good for the game to have a villain.

Braves just signed their closer for one year at $16M. Jansen will be remembered as a Dodgers legend. He probably knew this was his last opportunity to cash in as a free agent. Best of luck to him in the ATL

Carlos Correa, Minnesota Twins agree to 3-year, $105.3 million deal with opt-outs

When we traded Donaldson, I was hoping we were going to sign Story, never imagined it would be Correa. Now, we need to find some pitching. Quickly.

Wow! The Twins finally made a competitive move and spent all that money they’ve been pocketing over the years. Great for their fans. Every team should be forced to invest their revenue-sharing back into the product.

Angels have done well with the bullpen rebuild,… off last years stats they have the best bullpen in baseball ( I know it doesn’t work that way but with how bad they’ve been in the pen recently it’s a huge turnaround). Halo fans will remember how the bullpen carried us for years including to a World Series title so it feels good to feel good there again. Still need a shortstop and one more quality starter for me to start believing
