I got a little excited when I saw Cota mentioned. Looked him up and, in 4 years, had 67 catches for 883 yds and 6 TD's. His catches, by year, were: 13, 25, 11, and 18. After seeing that, I think ND should pass.

Every game I watched when he played he would always show up so I too was surprised by lack of production however when I see UCLA fans comments, they are all saying how he was underutilized and not used correctly.. you have to remember dtr has been so up and down as a QB... This isn't a Freddy canteen situation

He was an 18 guy. You should check out the career numbers for our 2018 class.

Agree.

UCLA only threw the ball 41% of the time in 2021, attempting less that 28 passes per game. 2020 wasn't much different either, just over 28 passes per game. He has only played 12 games the last two seasons and still finished 3rd in rec yards this year, despite playing less games.

The biggest issue for him is staying healthy. He only played more than 8 games in a season once.

There are worse options out there. But for a one year player, he seems like a good puzzle piece that could put up solid WR #3 numbers. If nothing else, he and Lenzy could help eachother for the one to two games they likely get banged up.

So is there a player to be named later in the Auburn Oregon deal or was it straight up? Nix for Ashford?

Just saw that Sot lost his older brother to a drunk driver 3 years ago in December. That's pretty rough, looked up to his older brother a lot. Special kid, hope he knocks it out of the park in South Bend.

I think Brandon Joseph was a huge get, but it really feels like a lot of schools are playing the portal game better than us…

The way ND wins in the portal is by not losing. Many like to take issue with the academics making it difficult to transfer IN. Just as many kids don’t transfer OUT though because they want to stick out their degree. Take Alabama for example:

Added stud RB in Gibbs and CB in Ricks. They also lost Drew Sanders to Arkansas though. May have been passed post injury by Dallas Turner but a near sure fire contributor next year, former 5 star and likely starter again at some point in Alabama career. Javon Baker, depth at minimum, will compete to start at Ole Miss or Florida at WR. Billingsley, head case but will start at TE for Texas, R1 potential if right.

Other places are more of a revolving door. ND can be somewhat one way, when done right, in terms of impact players. Fingers crossed we see no “out” now and the rest of the winter/spring

He won't have a good OL to run behind, but must be nice when USC can go from a dumpster fire to a top 15 team overnight just because of bringing in transfers. ND needs to do whatever they can the lesson how hard it is for transfers to come in or they won't be on a even playing field.

Biggest advantage ND has over USC is our OL vs their DL, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I don't think they'll be stellar, but USC did bring in like 37 three star OL a year or two ago. You gotta figure with that many bodies they'll find a way to put together an okay line.

Nevermind, I guess it was just 6 OL in the 2020 class. I thought it was a lot more between that and 2021, but it was 9 total in that span with just a few being highly rated. Yeah, they're probably still a year or two away.

Again, it is such a joke how they are able to retool their roster overnight thanks to the new transfer rule and NIL. Just plucked an entire new starting offense of mercenaries out of the portal.

Yup. And Caleb Williams will announce any day now.
