I'm more disappointed in him pussy footing on the 3rd and 2 in the 2nd quarter than the fumble, but maybe that's just me...

I get it but also going to be the thing you love most about watching him play if the line takes another step next year.

Hopefully lesson learned. There's a time to dance to buy a second or two and there's a time to out your head down and barrel downhill.

I dont know what you mean by "pussy footing" but if you mean him being too patient and not hitting the hole sometimes? Maybe you're right... but being patient and looking for a hole is indicative of great running back skills.

Hes first year. He'll figure it out. He became one of my favorite players in a while after that tweet.

The fumble was a bit of a freak play tbh. At the time I overreacted like everyone else but looking back he was basically down, just not technically since he rolled on the defender. Tough spot to be in for sure.

With a statement like he made it sounds like he's not planning on transferring so that's good.

A true freshman that only took a large role because a CAPTAIN decided to sit out. He also had next to zero reps until a few games ago. I’m enthusiastic about his future and not concerned at all. Let’s remember that most of the RBs that come to ND rarely make any impact as a true freshman.

If BK was still the coach and had his hand in the offensive game plan Logan would've had 23 carries and 49 yards.

No blame from me on Diggs. He will come back strong in 2022.

Yep. Let's not pretend like that captain didn't fumble a ton also.

I must be on a limb because I don't see it with Diggs. He's had some solid runs against bad defenses that any RB would have had. His overly patient style doesn't fit him because he's not Kyren, not even close. I don't care about the fumble at all, those happen, I just don't see any special trait among size/speed/agility.

I think he's the 3rd RB by end of next year by combination of Estime, JD Price, and Tyree.

Agree with you. I think he’s a got good natural RB instincts, but his effectiveness will ultimately be limited by the fact that he isn’t explosive and/or doesn’t have athletic traits like Najee Harris to run through arm tackles when playing that style.

I'm also hedging a bit on Estime. He looked good in a few carries and that tweet he made either screams delusion, or he's a secret workout animal who needed a year to pick up playbook/college life and is going to be a monster next year. I'm betting workout animal.

How can people project him below Estime who barely showed anything? or a frosh to be with no experience?

That's a really really hot take.

Estime has potential traits. Great size and lower your head power. JD Price has vision and break away speed. Chris Tyree is one of the fastest backs in the country and has great hands.

We've seen Diggs and he doesn't have that, he certainly doesn't have suddenness or speed. I think he gets the C'bo treatment where everyone buys high but others with more talent surpass as they grow into college football. Sometimes the most mentally ready freshman will get the call, that's the right call for a coach to make but it's not permanent. I think he's be a value back to the team but he won't be a #1 or #2 long term. Just my opinion.

We aren't on the same page there. He has the tools to be great. Size, agility, vision, and a really good burst.

Kyren was probably my favorite running back ever at ND with how he played. Diggs is a different type of back even though he shows the same patient running style. But his ceiling as far as production could be just as high if not higher. Keep in mind Kyren was watching from the sidelines at this point in his career.

there is no secret about him being a workout warrior...you don't get to be his size unless you put in the work....i mean he might not be bo scarborough big...but the boi is yoked

Diggs has got similar traits to Kyren, and he's likely the future. He doesn't have Tyree's speed, but he's a more complete back and that's why he'll likely be the starter. At least that's what I thought prior to BK leaving because BK always went with the complete back. Next year will be a mystery at this point whether Rees and MF follow in that same vein or go a different route. I think it'll still be Diggs to start with Tyree as 1B (Unless they have to move/cross train him at WR), but he has the tools to get the job done.

Maybe we were a week early in celebrating that Kelly didn't get any players to go with him.

He just decided to pick up Popeye's for dinner instead of going with the healthy option, that's all.

Nothing to see here.

O to be young again. If I even think about getting Popeyes my heart gives out the Do Not Proceed palpitation warning..
