The weird thing is how many neutral observers also thought that they were going to win. 90%+ of bets on the moneyline and 90%+ of bets on the spread were for Michigan. Mike Frank made a thread about how he had a gut feeling that Michigan would win. It’s like people only watched the Bama/Georgia game and Michigan/Ohio State games.

Pfft, Mike Frank should know better, never underestimate Michigan's ability to be Michigan. This is the same team that choked away the MSU game and struggled with Rutgers. Gotta wonder if tOSU has fallen back down just a bit from their lofty perch with Urban gone. Still very good, but the Wolverines winning this year probably had less to do with Michigan and more to do with the Buckeyes coming down to Earth a bit.

This targeting is getting to be bullshit. The are ruining the game.

There needs to be a two-tiered targeting call: unintentional/borderline vs. flagrant. Flagrant would still get disqualified, while the unintentional/borderline would result in a 15-yard penalty and an automatic disqualification if there's a 2nd one in the game. Players getting tossed over borderline calls and accidental head contact is BS.

This is by far a worse loss than ND has ever had in the playoffs. This is not a super team, and they’re getting plastered.

ND last year played a super team with 2 top NFL starting WRs, a starting NFL QB on a playoff team, and a top 10 NFL RB… and competed much better than Michigan. I am so sick and tired of Big Ten/Big 12 champs getting blown the fuck out and not catching half the flack of Notre Dame.

And our QB didn’t lose his job mid-game. That’s bad.

Yeah, I thought that targeting call was bullshit. Looked like a form tackle to me, but he put the head down which was the no-no per the rule book. Still hit the guy square in the chest, wasn't going for the head. There definitely should be a flagrant call and an unintentional penalty separation as Bishop mentioned. That Georgia dude should not have to sit out half a game.

I'm positive ND could have done some damage in the playoff. Too bad ND played their worst game against Cincy. On that note Cincy played better than expected but I'm not sure how much of that was Saban holding back.

He definitely took his foot off the gas in the 4th. They could have had 38 if they wanted.

To be fair that was a pretty easy call as an ND fan. They looked much like our team last year. I was expecting similar results for them in the playoffs.

Thought that this was interesting. Basically, ND’s “beat down” by Bama super team last year that showed that they “didn’t belong” is not even in the top half of largest margins of defeats.

In terms of starting talent I think 2018-19 Bama and 2019 LSU are right up there. The depth though is absurd.
