I believe all three will coach through the bowl game. Polian is reportedly headed to FCS Lafayette and Del and Quinn are both expected not to be retained though there is more uncertainty regarding Del.

This year he was Kelly's "Head coach whisperer" and you could see him next to kelly on the sidelines..

I think Kelly trusted him, and that was a short list for Kelly.

I hope Marcus hires a "head coach whisperer" a person of trust whose sole function is to point out the little things to the head coach.

And does anyone know if there is positive chemistry between Marcus and Amber Keeling. Kelly seemed to trust her.

In all seriousness, I'd love to see a truly talents, 5* QB play. I love Tyler's upside but he does appear limited in some ways. But who knows, many ways to win a chip.

I agree. By all accounts based on the Merriweather situation and given Del's activity/comments on Twitter he's been nothing but class since the BK situation went down. I've been re-evaluating him since mid-seaason, and based on the better WR play from Austin and Lenzy, as well as the strong performance by the freshmen Styles and Colzie, I feel like he'd be deserving of returning. If he doesn't, I wish him the best of luck and hope he lands a good job somewhere.
I feel the same way about Polian, but it sounds like he got that HC job and that's good for him. I still think Polian has been a great recruiter and we've seen improvements in ST play in recent years.

I think that no matter what they need somebody who can run the style of defense he wants to recruit to or there will be some serious friction. I expect us to go with an internal promotion, but I think a lot might depend on how the Fiesta Bowl goes.

Sources familiar with the quick search said Notre Dame had eight current head coaches on its initial list. Two declined to participate, one had timing issues, two others were eliminated by the school. The list was quickly whittled to three head coaches and Freeman.
