OL George Barnett, Iowa
WR Brennan Marion, Pitt
ST Grant Cain, James Madison

If needed:

DC Doug Belk, Houston
DL Marcus West, Charlotte

That's my wish list.

Wasn’t it the Iowa coaches first year? And their OL was awful.

OL - Joe Rudolph Wiscy would be nice, but he's AHC & OC so it would be a long shot.

He went to Wisconsin and has been with Chryst for a while. I think long shot is putting it in the best terms.

Barnett is a guy from Central IL that could recruit IL and the Midwest. IL isn't Ohio, but it is no longer just an OL state either. His resume shows he's a worker, too.

It was. Iowa had the lineman of the year in the Big Ten and a guard that received second team honors as well, I believe.

Yeah Linderbaum was already legit before the guy stepped foot in Iowa though. Their OL was in the 100s in virtually all metrics

Wisconsin fans seem to want him gone. Could be a situation where he is advised to look for other opportunities, in which case OL coach at ND is pretty good.

But do we want a guy who the fans of his current team want to fire? Is it just his coordinating that is bad, but OL play still good?

Justin Frye would be a nice home re for the OL.

He would. He's one of the higher compensated OL coaches in the country, though.

I don't know what kind of deal Freeman and Rees struck up with Jack, but if it involves getting lieutenants better money, you could have a shot there.

True, but their QBs suck, which I'm sure helped contribute to the OL looking bad. Kinda like another team we know before the coaches adjusted things.

He is currently the Associate head coach/offensive coordinator/offensive line coach. Frye at UCLA is also OC/OL.

These dudes would probably be taking pay cuts in addition to demotions coming to ND right now.

Their RB Tyler Goodson ran for 1100 yards, 4.6 YPC. A good chunk of that damage came in November against Northwestern, Illinois and Nebraska mind you.

Still, 1100 yards is 1100 yards.

Bring Jaylon Smith in as LB coach. You want young energy on your staff, you got it.

Bring in the defensive equivalent of Charlie Weiss to run the D and we’ll out scheme every team we play.

BTW, am I the only one who’s noticed a conspicuous absence of posts from BobbyMac over the last few days? Is it possible he is Marcus Freeman?

Go Irish!

Eric Wolford from Kentucky is interesting. Spent his entire 29 year career as an OL coach some time with NFL been all over the country with jobs in states of Kansas, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Illinois, South Carolina, Ohio, California, Kentucky.

Would bring some of that experience the staff needs, likely has a good relationship with Aamil. Also has 5* Kiyaunta Goodwin from Charlestown, IN committed to UK. (we never offered so maybe there is a reason).

Do people think Chris Watt isn't ready to be OL coach?

Maybe, just because the rest of the staff is so young. If they hired someone like Cutcliffe to be QB coach then maybe it would be fine but at some point they need to add like 50 years of experience to this staff.

But if they’re paying attention they’ll see that w all the momentum of the program, they’ll get laid.

Anyone have an idea of what Jeff Quinn makes?

I found an article saying that Eric Wolford made 450k in his first year ('21). I dont knwo if he would leave after just one year but seems like if we paid him around top 15 it would be a raise for him.

I’m just going assume that’s ND has opened up the endowment and we can get whomever we want

Ok, it's been a fun 24 hours, but I'm getting into the right lane so you can pass me. I'm not there yet by any stretch.
