Cinci’s defense has 4 sacks through 3 games. Good chance they double that total after Saturday’s game.
Is there a reason why there is so much stir up from the Cincinnati side poking the bear here? Ritter’s quote, defensive player saying “we’re going to show Coach Freeman he shouldn’t have left” and Tony Pike wearing the Fick > Kelly shirt on media bouts. Just seems odd that some of the players, media and fans are that peacockish right now.
The info on Hinish was more to the effect that it isn’t concussion related which is looked at as a positive.
Appreciate the update. I thought I had heard on the Wiscy game broadcast that someone mentioned concussion.
weather.com shows chance of rain around 43% at 3:00 and holding around that number until 6:00. Accuweather.com is showing 25%-30% until 5:00 when it jumps to 75%.

Notre Dame quarterback Jack Coan is making good progress in his return from a left ankle injury, although he split time with Drew Pyne leading the starting offense in practice this week, coach Brian Kelly said Thursday.
Coan left last week's game against Wisconsin with an ankle injury in the third quarter and did not return. Pyne replaced Coan and passed for 81 yards and a touchdown in Notre Dame's 41-13 win. The ninth-ranked Irish host No. 7 Cincinnati on Saturday.
"He's ahead of where I thought he would be," Kelly said of Coan.
After the Wisconsin game, Kelly said Coan, if healthy, would remain Notre Dame's starting quarterback. The transfer from Wisconsin has 986 passing yards with nine touchdowns with two interceptions this season, while completing 60.6% of his attempts.
Freshman quarterback Tyler Buchner also is making progress from a hamstring injury that slowed him last week. Kelly said Buchner's health is back to where it was when he appeared in games against Toledo and Purdue, accounting for 92 rushing yards and 72 passing yards.
"We're getting all three of them ready right now," Kelly said.
Fighting Irish offensive tackle Michael Carmody practiced significantly at left tackle this week and should play against Cincinnati after missing the past two games with an ankle injury. Tosh Baker has been starting in place of Carmody.
Notre Dame starting defensive tackle Kurt Hinish will miss his second consecutive game with a concussion, but he should return for next week's trip to Virginia Tech. Kelly said Hinish saw a specialist this week and has been cleared of any serious head injury.
I sure hope the entire team and staff are aware of the trash talk and come out fired up. If there was every a game to try and win by 50 it’s this one. Time to step on their throats.
This ND defense is just mean. It's going to be a fight and they want to knock you out. Hamilton especially is going to talk all day. There are going to be multiple unsportsmanlikes, probably from both sides. I also think there are going to be a lot of Cincy fans there, which is going to piss off the ND fans that are there, and I think it is going to be a pretty loud and volatile crowd.
All in all I am super pumped for this game. In this day and age of political correctness, social media, and players being buddies, there aren't many games with animosity. Zooming way out here, but look at old rivalries like Red Sox-Yankees, Lakers-Celtics, etc. The fans still hate each other, but the players are all trading jerseys and going to dinner after the game. The drama is muted.
That ain't happening Saturday. I think Cincy has a chip on their shoulder because of Freeman, and just generally being the little guy. I think ND hears all this talk and sees the underdog odds, and they are simmering. I also think the ND defense is believing now, and would go to war for Freeman. They're probably doing the Marvin Hagler "WAR! WAR! WAR!" walking to classes.
I can't wait!

I've not seen this discussed here (though I might've missed it), but II's podcast said that Cincy's kicker is 15-28 (made-missed) in his career and 1-3 this year.
In what's likely going to be a defensive game, that's a huge advantage to Notre Dame. Doerer can be spotty but Cincy's guy sounds terrible.

So apparently anyone who has YoutubeTV as their main streaming option...you might need Peacock this Saturday after all.

I like that sound of that. I had not seen or heard that. Thanks for sharing.
But, as I type this, I’m fairly confident he’s now going to be 4 for 4 with a a couple 40 yarders mixed in.
