There are not enough adjectives I can say about this young man. The throw back was not there, he juked one guy, reverses field and find an open receiver for a 2pt conversion.

Thank you Avery Davis for all you have been through and done the past 5 years.

Absolutely, mentioned this just the other day in a group chat. He could have transferred like many before him, but he stuck it out through position changes and always just does what's asked of him. His dedication is admirable, definitely a Notre Dame Man.

Finally got some targets today, also. 3 for 29, and with that big play that got called back he'd have had 60ish yards.

Yep, big third down conversion later on in the game, too. I noticed he was open up the seam at the end of the first half when Coan tossed that pick six when he locked on Mayer.

Hopefully Davis and Coan are working on that chemistry because Davis working out of the slot could be a great extension to our running game, considering Coan doesn't have much time to throw the ball.

That two point play was a thing of beauty. He never panicked and made one helluva play.

What a great game from Avery today.

Yes! I’m just more impressed with him every single day. I’ll say it again there is not enough adjectives to describe Avery Davis.

Have to really start considering him as an NFL draft pick now…if he continues to put together days like today and can run a 4.5 he is in excellent shape to get drafted.

The thing that impresses me about Avery is that he does whatever the coaches tell him and has had so many roles at ND. He seems so selfless and team oriented. Not sure that he will ever play on Sundays but Mr. Davis exudes class, character and commitment on every level. He is a very special person.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Definition of a team play! Glad to see him have a great game. I assume he probably got the game ball?

What a stud. Couldn’t happen to a better young man.

He’s also benefiting from a QB that effectively uses the slot. Which is refreshing to see.

The day he had yesterday show that if you want to double Mayer or Austin that he and Lenzy can be just as dangerous. Bodes well for our offense. No need to force anything to anybody. Play to your advantages on offense and get the ball to your mismatch no matter who it is.

I know we have Lenzy to use for an end around but it sure would be nice to see Avery involved in that portion of the offense more. With his speed and his ability to throw the ball it makes the defense really second guess what's going on.

Avery is the guy that “makes” a team. Quiet, team first. Doesn’t drop passes, is always ready to go. All about production, not about flash. I wish him all the luck.

Anybody else notice how fast he looked on Kyren's long TD? Like a fighter jet escorting Air Force One.

Exactly what i noticed. I never viewed him as a burner but he has some wheels. Hope we can continue getting the ball to him. We have 4-5 bonafide playmakers who each do good things with the ball in their hands: Kyren, Mayer, Davis, Austin, Styles, maybe Tyree if he can come back healthy.

He's always had wheels. I think what is particularly impressive is his acceleration. He'll catch a pass and then is full speed very quickly up field.

Still can’t believe we’ve not figured out a way to get him to throw the ball on a trick play.

can he come back? If so why wouldn't he?

With the covid year he can come back for a 6th year. Will he? Idk maybe. The freshman we have and the recruits we have coming in I feel like his talent would be behind all of them.

Might be worth it just to be able to rehab and get himself back to 100% before trying to make an NFL roster.

Yeah he would be extremely valuable for another year.
Then go play a few years on practice squads (I don't mean any disrespect by that).
Not enough players max out their eligibility.

he may not have the elite wow factor that excites us fans, but he is very valuable and under appreciated. If he’s interested in coming back for a 6th year, TAKE HIM. Solid position player that has almost no downside.

Get him significant NIL money, much more that he can make on a practice squad or a later round choice.

I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I think he is a great team player and does everything you need him to do. I’d be ecstatic if he came back another year. All I was saying pure talent at the WR position he would be lacking in that department to the other players coming in and freshman there now
