He should’ve just named a top-2 and let OSU/ND sweat out another battle for a while lol.

I still think if OSU has a spot and makes him feel enough love, he’s a Buckeye. But they’ve got their sites set on trying to secure an Oklahoma-like WR haul in ‘23 that would include three five-star guys at WR, none of which is Tate.

If they feel like they’re out of it for any of those top guys, Tate becomes “we’ve always loved you and thought of you as our top guy, but we know you like ND too so we didn’t want to press” and then they get him.

I do think the ND depth chart is legitimately appealing to him… but I don’t think he’s going to be able to say “no” to his dream school unless he has multiple reasons.

Brand building. Guys in the future will release Top 50 lists and ask each fanbase to retweet if he should go to their school.

Not sure if already mentioned but he is planning to be at the Cincinnati game. Will also be back at home in early November and Christian believes a commitment could happen then. ND still in a very good spot here.

If Kevin Austin comes out as the undisputed WR1, especially vs Cincy... I think that it swings ND's way.

I also think Dante Moore plays into this if ND's his choice.

A couple other notes, Tate doesn't have any other visits set and is looking at a decision around November 14th, when he'll be back home. I think ISD had hinted at the being the case.

I have no doubt that he is legitimately interested in ND and that ND does have a chance. Del has upped his game the last two cycles and I think he would need to dial it even more to win this one. It's possible, but Hartline is king of WR recruiting across the country.
