I’d guess he was more talking in the future not 2021
Yes, next year
I’d guess he was more talking in the future not 2021
Joe Alt is going to be a starting tackle for us in within 2 years. He already has the frame, let him develop strength and technique and sky is the limit. I'm really excited to see what he becomes in the future.
I don't know. Barring the injury bug, it either happens next year or in '24. History says once Fisher & Baker claim the spots, they won't lose them until they leave.
I was imagining Fisher locking down a tackle position this fall then ceding it to Alt in '22 or '23 when Fisher moves inside to Guard. But you're right, if Fisher grows into the position and continues his current stratosphere trajectory, he's likely not moving outside of injury. Which means Alt's best chance is taking a spot from Baker, I guess we'll see how he looks throughout the fall.
I'm just enamored with Alt's numbers.
”Offensive tackle Joe Alt checked in at 6-8, 298 pounds in mid-June for summer school.“

Worth noting that by the end of the 2021 cycle that 247 had him as a top 200 player, think we may be underrating him since his composite ranking was still so low.
per ISD podcast word from the Gug is that the staff is very impressed by Alt so far
Blake, Rocco, Joe...going to be seeing these guys in the NFL...
did joe alt get any playing time vs Toledo?
BK said he will be rotating in interior OL against purdue but what about joe alt, does he see any game action this weekend.
He should be the starting LT going forward. And, at first watch, Lugg played better. I’d like to see Carmody get some snaps at RT.
