It's kind of funny that people don't realize that the reason the "border crisis" is being pushed... despite seeing a virtual mirror of what we saw during the 2019 surge under Trump... is that it's basically the only wedge issue test balloon that has worked for the GOP. Their opposition to the American Rescue Plan was extremely unpopular, Biden has tracked around 54% approval since being inaugurated, his approval of handling COVID is sky high, etc. They trotted out a number of talking points about the debt, cancel culture, China, etc. The only that is both driving engagement AND has poor approval numbers for Biden is the border. That's why the same people who didn't have a word to say in 2019 are going through insane theatrics to pretend it's THE most important issue. The truth is that it's basically the status quo and nowhere close to what we saw in the early 00s. And moreover, people expected a big surge this year regardless of who was President because of the depressed crossing numbers in 2020.

All is fair in politics, because as I said on here years ago the "kids in cages" thing was an overblown trope that could be traced back to before Trump even became president. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

They need to come up with just a couple of terms that everyone falls into to save us from learning about more groups and what the qualifications are to be included as one. Debt and taxes are about to move up the list with the Biden border crisis. This infrastructure plan on the heels of the other big partisan wishlist spend is insanity. The tax hike for 400k and up that he campaigned on is already being tweaked down to 200k and they will need a tax hike to justify this. They are saying they can do it with a corporate tax rate hike to 28%, but that seems like an introductory proposal and I'll bet this gets even worse.

They did one big covid spend because the country needed it, fine. Now we're just exploiting it and to some extent, the first packages did that too. The plan seems to focus the most on electric vehicles, charging stations, and the grid. Electric vehicles are already booming and states are already pushing forward aggressively with RPS goals. I guess I'll just sit back and email Joe Manchin some more and hope for his sanity.

Overall I wouldn't call him an extremist, but he was certainly extreme in pushing the stolen election story. As far as the rules that Drayer or I am following? Voting takes long because Democrats vote more than once? I don't recall that logic. May have been made in gest. I waited forever to vote in 2020 for the first time. I live in a pretty white burb too for metrics. I have lived and voted in areas where I was a minority and it was much quicker.

Rupar lives to the very far-left and has consistently bizarre takes that require a special world-view that I (and I suspect others) would consider rather extreme. He has deliberately mislead readers for Vox, which is probably accepted there, and like I said, even earned the attention of Urban Dictionary for it. You may find his views more acceptable than I. There are several funny things about moving the all-star game.

1. Its based on a lie. Even Glenn Kessler is busting Biden's balls which is shocking. I didn't see which journo it was but one of them even lit up Jen Psaki on it and she was shell-shocked.

2. Biden said 40 states are passing these laws, so that rules out all but around 10 states that Biden would endorse. Of those 10... do we know how many are more restrictive than GA?

3. Manfred is an idiot. He will end up moving the game to some place with less early voting or some restriction and will get roasted for it. And you better believe some journos are already glancing around at state's election laws of states with baseball teams

4. I'm sure the all-star game brings in some revenue for the state through taxes, but the Atlanta metro is the real loser here. You know... the area in GA that delivered Joe Biden the state of GA. I'm sure the guys with bars and restaurants around the stadium are super pleased right now lol.
