“We are seeing a flood of Mexican heroin, Mexican meth, and Mexican fentanyl coming into Montana. The purity level that these Mexican cartels with methamphetamine is close to 90%. Years ago, it was homemade meth in Montana that had purity levels of less than 30%,"

Montana Senator Steve Daines.

Buy American. Including your meth, Commies.

Kamala made a point of voting as liberal/progressively as possible because she thought she could capture the liberal base of the dems. She did similar things to at least triangulate in California/the Bay. Also kamalatoe? We're cool with misogynistic epithets on this site?

Yes, that was out of line and unnecessary..

In regards to her opportunistic votes trying to earn the votes of the liberal wing, do you really believe that if she were to become President that she would turn her back on the progressives and say, "just kidding" LOL. Kamala may have a bridge in San Francisco to sell you.

WTF!? Kamalatoe is about as extreme as you're gonna get! Damn! And as far as Mush Brain, he will be lucky to even be able recognize that he's actually a human being four yrs. from now! A couple more times falling up the stairs to Air Force One they'll need to strap him in a seat and put him an escalader get him up there. Geesh!

Dafuq? Kamalatoe? This is where we’re at now? Wow.

I think she'd try to do whatever she thought it would take to win again. Clinton triangulated after 1994. Obama pushed the most centrist/center right versions of his plans possible hoping to get them through. I just don't think she'd be effective at doing whatever she was trying to do.

Imagine if Bernie won. We don't get a 1.9 trillion stimulus and we're not doing infrastructure. It'd be attacked as SOCIALISM and Sinema/Manchin wouldn't go along fearing for their political survival. Joe on the other hand is a moderate grandpa. Harder to attack. I think you'd see the same dynamic with Kamala.

There have been a couple out of line posts from a left leaning and right leaning poster the last couple of days, but I've actually been pretty encouraged at the tone of the boards over the last week or two generally not stooping too low and actually being cordial with each other.

I'll say it. She got selected for checking off two very big boxes (black, female) and one small (Asian) box.

Pence made sense, he's the quiet measured guy with executive experience with all the conservative bona fides you want a guy like Donald Trump around. "Donald, thats not how we do things."

Biden made sense as a VP, he's the old swamp vet you pair with the young visionary who is still new in town to help guide the ship. "Barack, here's how this goes. I'll make some calls and see what we can do."

Viewed in the best possible light, Kamala didn't bring anything resembling that. Tulsi bodied her so bad in the debate that she basically ended her life. She's a darker Kristen Gillebrand.

Kamala was a pander choice. You know it. I know it. Biden all but said it. People can pick whoever they want, that's their prerogative, but this isn't controversial or saying the quiet part out loud. It's saying what everyone knows around. Dude said "im picking a minority woman."

Had he chosen Amy Klobuchar or something, I dont think that'd be a bad pander. That lady is very respected by people, whether you agree with her or not. Has a reputation for getting things done. Super smart. Etc.

Kamala is the type of person who born at the right time. If she were 10 years older she'd have probably missed out on opportunities for the wrong reasons (discrimination) and if she were 10 years younger she'd have missed out on them for the right reasons (lack of talent in an era of expanding diversity).

in the next 10-20 years, both parties will probably have run out of "firsts" that parties choose to pander to different groups, and that will be a good thing.

Miguel Estrada would be sitting on the Supreme Court today had it not been for (documented) Democrat fear of having the first Hispanic on the court be a conservative appointed by a republican.

Christ, I can't believe I'm out here defending Kamala Harris. Find her policy positions to be scrambled at best, I mean look at the people saying "Yassss kween" but don't realize she was locking people up on drug crimes.

But it's not completely outlandish that she would have been picked as VP. Attorney general of a huge state, senator, etc. Looking back at some of the past VP's her resume doesn't strike me as wildly out of line.

Why was she selected, say that quiet part out loud for everyone to see.

Why did every network debate if it was going to be Kamala Harris or Susan Rice for weeks? Why didn't they speculate about it being Tim Kaine or even Gretchen Whitmer? He didn't pick the best choice because he pushed himself into a corner and was then shoved into it even deeper by a party that is chin deep in identity politics.

Pence got picked to shore up Trump's evangelical/republican classic flank. Pence was seen as an inferior executive to his predecessor and the governor after him. He was in danger of losing his next election if Trump doesn't nab him. If Trump wanted to find the best executive possible Pence wasn't the guy.

I'm not a fan of using such names (I didn't care for Drumpf or Burka Osama either). Referring to her as Kamaltoe, though, has a lot less to do with being misogynistic than referencing how she jump started her career and got her foot in the door of Cali politics: shagging an old political power broker who was more than twice her age. I'm sure it was true love, though.

It seems we've been fine with old dudes shagging young women for quite a while. A younger woman goes after an older guy and que the horror.

Don't be disingenuous. The issue isn't that she went after an older guy. It's that she traded sex for power and a career boost.

Drumpf was ancestrally his name in German though. You would agree it would be wrong to call Lauren Boebert, bimbert? or Bimbo Boebert, right? You could say it's rooted in her 15 year journey to obtain a GED. But we would all know it's misogynistic af.

She wanted to get elected in the Bay. She schmoozed with the machine that ran the Bay area and dated a prominent elected official. Was she ambitious? Sure. But they all are. Bonus points if you can name the recent VP who tried to cheat in every student election he ran in. I'll take dated an old guy over that 7 days a week. But again, I'd prefer she not be the nominee. I'm on the Mayor Pete or Andy Beshear train.

Let's be real, the Republican Party lost any moral high ground they arguably had regarding "sexual ethics" or "family values" when they nominated Trump.

Lol I bribed kids to vote for me so I could be on student council in 8th grade. They all went to elementary school with the other kid and were his friends.....and I bought them each off for a grand total of like 3 bucks lol. I wanted to go on the student council trip.

God punished me. I got super ill the first day of the trip and had to go home.

That said, cheating in student elections isn't in the same time zone as banging (at least one) married man in exchange for political favors.

Speaking of Pete, starting to look like he may be a poster child of book smart, common sense dumb. Tweeted that no Americans should have to own a vehicle. How does he want people to get around? How's a farmer going to get to town?

Also is pimping a gas mileage tax. We already tax the purchase of gas, now we are gonna tax the distance that gas takes us too?

Lets be real some more... the democratic party lost credibility in regard to sexual ethics and family values when they ragged on republicans but not their own.

A big issue america has is we do density poorly. We subsidize car owning make zoning restrictive and disincentives mass transit as a result. I would absolutely rather live in a city and not have to drive to work than live in a suburb and suffer a long commute. The gas mileage tax is being considered because with hybrids and electric vehicles you get the same wear on roads with way less consumed gas. You need to fund the highways and how do you do that in 10 years when every car is electric?

Pence's cheating came in college elections. In his first congressional elections he used campaign donations to pay his personal expenses which is a tad unethical (not illegal). Kamala dated a guy who was separated 10 years at the time. My parents started dating a while into separation but before divorce finalization. I don't consider my step parents to be filanderers.

Cool. Has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that she banged her way into a political career that's now put her in the WH, as opposed to getting there on smarts, accomplishments, etc. She's not totally incompetent or stupid. She's just mediocre and unexceptional in any meaningful way, at least politically. Her greatest qualifications for political office seem to be that she's female, black, and willing to trade sex for a job. Imagine an actress who got her big break/first starring role because she was boinking the studio president as opposed to spending years in acting classes, summer stock, and off off off Broadway plays to hone her chops. Not really all that impressive now, is it?

Part of Me Too is a large portion of actresses were forced to sleep with producers to break into the business... Kamala is quite competent and bright per anyone who's worked for her. She did not however inherit a fortune, marry into wealth, start as the scion of a political family etc. Etc. I don't hear any crying about the last guy getting bailed out of business failures by daddy or shorting contractors, Bush being the son of a president etc.

Cuomo is being run out of town because of sexual harrassment complaints. Franken got launched from the senate for the same. Where are dems hypocrites on this front?
Gilibrand sacrificed Franken like he was nothing or her own desires, but ignored Tara Reade and waited until Cuomo was finally finally getting dog piled to release a statement. The left ignored Tara Reade (Believe All Women) until the Larry King tapes came out and then still chose party over principle.
It’s a very different tone for them when a Democrat is accused.

Anyone who paid attention knows Cuomo is going down because blood got in the water with the nursing home shit.

The sexual harassment stuff is a vehicle to get rid of him in a righteous way without admitting he lied/covered up numbers to avoid political backlash.

"Kamalatoe" refers to a women´s vagina. Period.
We all know that.
Language that is used to disrespect women.
Call it misogynism, or call it abuse.

But call it.

1. I assume you are?

2. Weak. Keep moving those goal posts pal.

3. The entire world watched Biden maintain his composure as a covid-riddled, coked up orangutan screeched at him for an hour an half in the first debate. Most impressive thing I’ve seen in awhile.

4. Man. Woman. Person. TV. Camera. Polish. Leppy. Jackass.

5. Trump used a cheat sheet when he denied extorting the Ukrainian Prime Minister into announcing a fraudulent investigation into the Bidens/Burisma. I assume that makes him senile and a crook. The true heir to the Reagan-Nixon legacy.

1. I'm not and neither are those senators. I can offer an opinion based on what we know about Alzheimer's and Biden.

2. Didn't move any goal posts. If you think the guy "having a meeting" with a few senators is a big deal, good luck with that.

3. We can agree to disagree.

4. Hahahahaha

5. Using notes is commonplace. Biden having names and pictures of reporters, including ones crossed out he shouldn't call on, is straight up embarrassing.

This is my favorite thing to come out of this press conference. OH NOES HE USED NOTES DURING THE PRESS CONFERENCE!! HOW DARE HE.

Give me a break, people use notes for press conferences ALL. THE. TIME. To start calling them a "cheat sheet" might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

His handlers made a binder for him. It had reporters' names and pictures in it. Name the last president who needed that, especially given the two months Biden has had to prepare for his FIRST "press conference." Embarrassing.

Lawyers use that for judges all the time. Coaches print out pics of the refs with names. You're just jealous that Trump could never substantively discuss policy. He'd just cry that the press was unfair, call someone low energy and then add a build the wall trope.

Agreed about the inherited wealth/marry into wealth aspect. That’s real for all major pols on both sides & it’s an essential advantage. Kamala is quite competent as you say...no one would disagree. She probably gets unfairly criticized for being an opportunist vs if she were male. The thing that throws a red flag for me is that she had a horrible showing in the Dem primaries. IIRC, she wasn’t even going to win her home state before she quit. She wasn’t impressive on the debate stage amongst her peers. That leaves the impression to a lot of folks that she was chosen for her skin color & her sex. Biden had already said he was choosing a woman so we know that narrowed the field. She may end up being great but I think we can agree she didn’t get the VP based on merit when looking at the rest of the field and her showing on the national stage in the debates. Regardless of “rich white guys” like Bush, Trump, Hillary & Biden, they still were voted in as their respective party’s nominee.
