I’m pretty sure the plan was for him to play wide out at ole miss and everyone was expecting Peyton to follow the next year and then they would continue the tandem that they had in high school..That being said I don’t believe Arch going to be coming up from sec country..I wouldn’t get my hopes up but from film the kid looks to be a stud.

You really never know though. I'd like to know who he grew up cheering for. LSU?
IMO, not saying it won't be the SEC, but I think it'll likely be the best situation for him.
The right coach, the right scheme, the right depth chart, etc..
And he'll obviously have some great input from his dad, two uncles, and gramps.

Cooper was Peyton's WR in HS. He went to Ole Miss to be a WR. The spinal condition forced him to quit football. It was at that point that Peyton started to explore his options. He hit it off with Cutcliffe at Tennessee and the rest is history.

If Cooper had kept playing ball, Peyton probably goes to Ole Miss to follow dad and big brother.

Two books worth reading about the family: The Mannings by Lars Anderson and Manning by Archie and Peyton Manning with John Underwood.

I like this guy A LOT, his film is fantastic, good zip, moves, nice touch. In 2 years he will have added some strength and size and the ball will be buzzin out of his hand.

I really hope we are a player hear. I am only Meh on the Detroit kid, just kind of floated the ball everywhere. Imaleva looks like Kellen Mond, no neck/hunch back. Wasn't overly impressed, but would still take him. The Malik kid was REALLY good as well, but is he a fit coming out of LA? but that is purly me speculating, knowing nothing about him.

always love the the anecdote where in the back yard Peyton was throwing passes to Cooper and Eli's job was to simply snap the ball lol

I didn't realize there was a profile built for him. (Way to cherry pick Lion!)

I didn't build it for a reason.

It's a great offer as long as you are offering a larger/realistic Plan A group. It's a bad plan if he's 1 of 2 that you are going to concentrate on in a 2022 sorta way.

Tommy needs better methodology.

When Archie would go from NO to Oxford, he'd stop in MS for gas and have a sandwich at the same place. For years.

After Peyton signed with Tennessee, Archie made the trek and the owner of the gas station wouldn't serve him food.

I'm glad Peyton didn't go to Michigan.

Honestly it was kind of an accident lol. I had no designs on jumping into the profile game yesterday, but I read that he had a Zoom scheduled with the staff, then I saw the news about him getting an offer happen in real time, so I went ahead and put it together during the chaos.

I've never been accused of cherry picking in a pickup game... but this is the internet. There are no rules of honor or hustle in this space.

Agreed. He’ll collect all the offers from big name schools and in the end choose Ole Miss or UT in my opinion. If not those two, I suspect he still doesn’t leave the conference. If Cutcliffe were younger, I could see Duke having an outside chance but I think the timing is off.

UT meaning Texas or UT meaning Tennessee? Both would have a ton to prove on the field in the next two years.

Lincoln Riley coaching this kid would be pure football entertainment if it goes down that way.

Didn't I read that Arch has a great relationship with Texas, or am I mistaking someone else?

Every blueblood in America has a legal obligation to offer him.

Dad was a good athlete. His uncles were both #1 draft picks with multiple super bowl wins. Grandpa was a star quarterback in the NFL.

You can't not offer that kid if he even remotely looks the part. If he gets to campus and ends up being a flop,, you still did the right thing.

I doubt he comes to ND. I bet he stays in the SEC. But ND should absolutely make a run at him. Even if he's half as good as his relatives, he'd likely be good enough to contribute at ND.

Ironically, it could be either but I initially meant Tennessee. The Mannings aren’t tone deaf though, they see Tenn like the rest of us & Heupel has a lot to prove in this situation. I’d throw LSU in there b/c of their New Orleans roots but again, who knows how the investigations there turn out for Orgeron & the program as a whole. I just hope he doesn’t opt for Bama. It would be fun to see another team threaten Bama w/in the SEC w/ a QB like Arch is potentially going to be.

I remember being in Memphis around the time Peyton was being recruited and it really created a hatred between Ole Miss & Tennessee fans. Memphis is probably closer to Oxford than Knoxville but still has plenty of Tenn fans due to being in the same state so there was truly a back & forth about which school he’d choose. I don’t think it could’ve worked out better choosing Tennessee considering Cutcliffe as QB Coach/OC & not having the pressure of playing in his dad’s shadow in Oxford. Then follow that up w/ Eli going to dad’s alma mater put some space between them & Peyton had already carved his own niche. Arch should go to Tulane and piss the entire SEC off!

Same article as Dante Moore, this time Lemming to Hansen:

I think Archie Manning, the grandfather, contacted Notre Dame to let them know Arch would be interested in Notre Dame. So there appears to be interest both ways. However, you’ve got Duke with David Cutcliffe. You’ve got Tennessee with Peyton. You’ve got Ole Miss with the grandfather and Eli. Then you’ve got LSU pounding away, taking two of his good friends from the same class and who are committed there already.

I'm not understanding the visit to SMU. What's the connection?

Is that a famous stripper in Dallas?

More like a "Death Penalty" reference I would assume. AKA "The Program" Bobby Collins anyone?

Love this guys film, one would think that if we land him it would be a game changer. My fav 23 QB so far. Get him and Sayin after that, and we will win 4 Nattys.

I hope

So Archie Manning's grandson is visiting SMU because they were the last program to get the DP from the NCAA.

I'm not following.

I can't connect Sonny Dykes or the SMU OC to the Mannings in anyway that I can find on the surface. I mean, if I'm visiting anywhere, it's OU and not SMU. For obvious reasons.

We know the Manning’s sought out ND regarding interest, so there is some inkling of spark there. And if that results in him at least visiting then who knows? And can’t hurt. Getting debatably the top QB in the country on campus over the summer is at minimum, a small victory

Based on no real information I'm guessing whatever program gets Manning will have to be OK with the Manning family getting a ton of deference when it comes to his development and the offense as a whole. They would obviously know what they're doing so it's not all negative. But their main priority is always going to be Arch.

I don't think that's going to work for Kelly, Rees, and ND.

Certainly worth recruiting. Also worth noting the realistic opportunity so it doesn't stop us from recruiting more guys.

Who knows.... maybe the business savy Manning family can be convinced ND is the right place for Arch and global branding/opportunity. Fine, you wanna be a big shot in Mississippi or Texas? Ok. You wanna go global... come to ND and win a natty.

Imagine the Mannings sitting in kiffin's office listening to his sales pitch. Would love to be there.
