Almost certain he'll get an offer. Him and PJ Mustipher would be a nice haul. Got first offer from FSU yesterday. Dad is former NFL safety Artrell Hawkins, Uncle is current Cleveland Brown WR, Andrew Hawkins. Close with close with Elijah Taylor. He plays FB too.

“I like Notre Dame,” he said. “I’ve been talking with Elijah Taylor a lot lately and he’s a great guy and a person I’ve looked up to and have always tried to follow in his footsteps. I know he really likes it up there.

From Dave Berk @ Scout. (Freebie)

Can't imagine having to tackle a 260 lb fullback in HS. I was 165 lbs soaking wet in HS. We only had 2 linemen that were over 200. lol

Sometimes it's not terribly hard. We faced a Ft Wayne team my senior year, and they had a TB who went every bit of 245-250 that year. We held him to 4 yds rushing for the game, -2 in the second half. We won 47-7. The kid went to Sparty, but I don't believe he ended up doing anything with his career.

FULLBACK that is all.

Andrew Hawkins is a great story, back at his pro day he once put lead weights into his shorts to make himself appear heavier, he was like 170 lbs lol. He actually competed in that Michael Irvin reality show "4th and Long" and came 2nd

This is a huge recruit starting today. Can't wait and get too far behind everyone else. Got a lot of talent in the class in front of him heading to OSU in '17, ND needs him more and his path to PT is quicker in SB than Columbus.

He chose to go to OSU's spring game on Saturday over ND's so that gives an indication that ND's starting out in a hole already.

"It meant a lot to me," said Hawkins, knowing Thursday was Notre Dame's first day on the recruiting trail. "Notre Dame has been consistent through all of this. Coach Elston is a guy that I've already started to build a relationship with, so to see him out there today was exciting.

"The family environment," said Hawkins, regarding what stood out about his visit to South Bend. "I saw all of that on campus. They really seem to have a sense of togetherness in everything they do."

In the eighth grade my oldest son was about 4' 10" and 100lbs soaking wet. Played FS. Coaches called him the Tazmanian Devil because he wasn't scared of anyone even though he was smaller than everyone else. They played LN's MS team who had a tailback that was 6'5" and weighed 280lb. Kid comes blowing threw the line. My son lowers his level and hits that kid square in the leg and wrapped tight. My son kept his wrap, but the kid kept running like my son was a minor irritant. After about 10 more yards and 5 or 6 more guys to help he went down. To this day my son said it was the hardest anyone had ever hit him. The kid grew to about 6'8" and 310lbs. Offers from everyone and never made it to college (grades).

LOL

When I was a senior in HS a pitcher was kicked out of Cathedral for slamming a girls head on a desk. Sure enough, LN scoop him right up and went on to be County player of the year as a senior.

Damn coed schools.

Hawkins stays in touch with Irish - Scout

Notre Dame’s commitments shared their reasons for choosing the Irish. Having already visited Notre Dame before, Hawkins understands their decision.
“They've told me that committing to Notre Dame is a decision I won't have to worry about regretting,” Hawkins said. “They talk about the culture at Notre Dame that I've already gotten to witness firsthand. They talk a lot about the goals that 2018 commits have already begun establishing.”

Jurkovec’s message resonated with Hawkins.

“Phil told me that I have a home at Notre Dame and he gave them as good of an endorsement as any of their coaches have, and that's not easy to do,” Hawkins said. “Those guys make Notre Dame seem like a no brainer and they make me excited to go and visit again.”

What a nasty 2018 interior DL class that would be following up Hinish and Ewell.

Do you pronounce this kid's name, "Anus"?

I can hear the announcer now... "Anus takes the handoff and gets STUFFED up the middle".

I'll see myself out.

I was thinking this same thing this morning while reading up on him. I'd curse my parents if they named me something the undeniably looked like it was pronounced Anus.
