That quote is nowhere in the article. The closest thing is "It would be really hard to say no to coming back once again." Loy doesn't really seem to know how quotes work...

I'm with you. This is a pet peeve of mine.

There is "It would be really hard to say no..."

It's just stretching for a headline, though. They wouldn't be good businessmen if they didn't.

Yeah I'm fine with taking it slightly out of context to make a nice headline. But he straight made up a quote haha

Its getting so tired and played out.

About a month or so back there was some backlash on the Irish247 board as some subscribers are getting pissed that they (247 staff) seem to pump way more sunshine than other sites and some of it seems forced. Loy hopped on and seemed shocked and appalled that people felt that way.

I posted my thoughts and did so in a rational way. Shocker, it got no response instead Loy chose to respond to the posters that wanted to pump his ego. I've actually sent PM's to both Wiltfong and Loy on this topic as well, again, no response. Apparently, both are perfectly comfortable going about things the way they are.

If it wasn't the best national network, I'd have moved on already. Sorry for getting OT, just found in interesting.

I've also read that a mission before college is still on the table. Not sure if true but read it a couple of places.

Maybe we should sit him down with Manti to have a conversation about being a mormon at ND and waiting til after football to do your mission

Saw some posters in Utah saying that he is doing his mission straight out of high school.

Plenty of time to make up ground with Bubba Bolden.

Speaking of Bolden, ISD seems to think that the Irish would be hard to beat if they offer.

Academic issues? Why in God's green would we not have offered a safety (which we don't recruit well) with that offer list/ratings at a school like Gorman?

Especially as much as his Mom is involved and her past experience with ND. I think I mentioned it in his profile here but Bolden's Mom has made trips to ND with Ronnie Stanley's Mom. Plus now she can catch a ride every Friday night on the newly gold plated Air Fertitta One.

He is definitely taking his mission before college according to Scout. ND still recruiting him

How do we not lead for this kid? Also, why is his CB have OU leading? They aren't even in his top group.

I think his dad is on a staff of one of the Utah schools. Unless you were being facetious.

Not at all. That's interesting, is the school his dad is at BYU? Because that is only a 17% CB on 247. No CB's anywhere else in Utah. Does anybody really know where this kid is leaning?

Yeah, looks like Crusader broke the news a few months back. Also, he's now just a few miles away from campus. I'm a bit surprised he hasn't committed already, but maybe he just wants to enjoy himself before his mission.

I've got some not good news. This slipped by us a few months back. His Dad got hired as the Director of Football Relations at BYU in March. His Dad was his coach at Westlake high and he has transferred to Timpview HS in Provo... a mile or so from BYU campus.

would love to have this guy, but him taking a mission is a bummer from a football point of view.

Could be that he is a silent commit to BYU and will lead everyone astray just to get some late publicity for them... I mean, who was the last big time recruit that shocked the world and went to BYU, committing at an all star game? Most Mórmon kids end up at BYU because it was their dream school growing up and commit early in the process (Jake Heaps, Tanner Mangum, even Taysom Hill). Wouldn't be the most shocking thing.

No info by the way. I hate BYU football with a passion. I'll talk to the athletes and coaches I know here though and see if I can find out something worth while for you guys.

I really have no idea at this point. Early on it sounded like Stanford and UCLA were going to be the top contenders. Now as the recruitment has went on, I'm not even sure how hard some of these schools are pursuing him, mission might play a role in that. My guess, is that he ends up at one of the Utah schools. Basis for that thought is how important that seems to be to him and his family.

Per a rivals article. He will take an OV to ND, however the date hasn't been set. Continues to have good things to say about ND and we don't have any issue with him taking a 2 year mission first. Apparently USC told him he only had an offer if he didn't take the mission right away. No mention of his other OV's or when his list will be cut again.

Honestly can you guys remember in the remote recent memory anyone who has taken the 2 year mission up front and panned out? I think of colinsworth (was that his name?) ...he went away came back built like a 15 year old and never did a thing if I recall.
