Under, Isaac has never been a great pass rusher and his all power. I hope he has a Romeo Okwara type year but I don't see it. He's a good defensive end and great against the run but he has a hard time getting after the passer. Trumbetti is the guy that really needs to have the light go on for him this year.

Or the Hayes brothers. Jay and/or Daelin could give us a spark. One hope I'm holding onto is that we'll be stout against the run. I doubt there are many programs fielding a bigger front 4 than Isaac, Tillery, Jarron J, Trumbetti. Swap Trumbetti out for Jay and we have to be averaging close to 290 across the 4 positions. Add in Cage and Daelin and I honestly believe our DL will be fairly stout.

It's the rest of the defense I want to see against Texas. We need our secondary to click and we need our LBs flying around and making the tackles they are capable of making.

Agreed. I'd like to see what Hayes at SDE and Rochell at 3T looks like. Hoping that they at least give that a shot in fall camp.

If Isaac gets 6+ sacks its because we are getting some level of consistent outside pressure pushing QBs up in the pocket.

Don't sleep on Khalid Kareem, I have a feeling he will be a monster at SDE. I really like Rochell but I'm under.

Good on him. Rochelle always seemed like he gets it.

Will he get drafted?

A lack of pass rushing ability limits him, but I really think he could slide inside and be very stout for a team. I think he should get drafted, but if he doesn't, then the team to pluck him out of free agency is a lucky one.

Good for Isaac. He can benefit from not having to be the guy on the entire dline and get to a natural position, one of my favorite recent ND guys

Hopefully having a competent coach and playing his natural position at the 3 he flourishes.

made his first tackle at the weekend there as a Charger taking down CJ Prosise for no gain, which i thought was neat :)

Rochell has been on the Chargers' practice squad since getting waived prior to Week 2

NFL training camp bold predictions for all 32 teams - Who starts, gets cut, gets traded

Los Angeles Chargers

Defensive end Isaac Rochell will have a breakout season.

Talented edge rushers Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram will rightly garner most of the attention at the start of training camp. However, Rochell showed flashes of developing into an effective pass-rusher his rookie year, and thanks to a plant-based diet that helped him lose 25 pounds, the seventh-round pick in last year's draft raised eyebrows with his high motor as a pass-rusher during offseason work. "He's different," Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said about the Notre Dame product. "He's not even the same guy. I give our position coach Giff Smith a lot of credit, along with [strength coaches] John Lott and Jonathan [Brooks]. His weight is down, he's leaner and he's quicker. I'm really excited about Isaac." -- Eric D. Williams
