Bought a 500 GB Choose your game Xbox One bundle like a month ago. Woke up this morning and saw the Prime Day bundle and cried myself back to sleep

Stylosa from Unit Lost Gaming is the best Overwatch YouTuber out there IMO, and it's not close.

So which game should I pick from these options:

Forza Motorsport 6
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Rare Replay
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition

I am a big Tomb Raider fan and played the 2013 game on PS4. I am also getting Forza Horizon with my purchase so I don't think Motorsport 6 is necessary, but maybe I'm wrong. leaning towards Rise of the Tomb Raider. Thoughts?

Forza Motorsport is for hardcore car enthusiasts compared to the more arcade-y Horizon. Even with that distinction, Horizon still offers a ton of simulation options and doesn't feel arcadey at all, just more arcade-y than Motorsport.

I'd go with Tomb Raider.

So Motorsport is basically the Gran Turismo of Xbox?

I am a loyal Gran Turismo guy so I think that helps me decide in favor of Tomb Raider. Thanks.

Nintendo finally figured out how to crush its competition; just cash in on nostalgia.

For me, The four Mario games, Tecmo Bowl and Contra are worth the $60 on their own.

It is mind-boggling that they haven't tapped into like this previously.

There is the risk of over-doing it, and killing the fad too quickly, but their slow stream of releases for their "virtual-boy" on DS and WiiU consoles has been tooooo sloooooow.

I preferred Tecmo Super Bowl. If that was on there I would buy it.

Will seriously depend on how the controllers feel and how accurate the output is. Anyone can emulate any of these for free.

I'm curious if the games are all just in the system, or separate cartridges old school style... I assume it's far too small to play the og games...

id imagine they are just on the game's HD. It's basically gonna be a emulator with Nintendo's official seal on it right?

Today the company announced what it's calling the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition. It looks just like a NES, only a lot tinier, and it comes with 30 games built in. You can connect it to your TV via a HDMI cable, and it also includes a controller designed to work just like the iconic rectangular NES gamepad. (The new controller will also connect to a Wii Remote, so that you can use it to play Virtual Console games on a Wii or Wii U.)

In addition to HDMI support and a lack of cartridges, the new mini-console also features one useful modern convenience: multiple suspend points, so that you won't have to fumble around with passwords when you start playing a game again. The NES Classic Edition will be available on November 11th for $59.99.

I would assume so... though it would be awesome if they found some way of making og games playable on this thing, I still have a dozen or so... some not included in the console. My hope was the deck was more than just for show and you could actually use it... but I think this thing is about the size of one of the old game cartridges.

I don't really understand the need for them to release this as a physical device. The marginal cost of selling software is zero, while this thing costs them money to manufacture. Seems to me like it would have been more profitable to release the software through Steam, Xbox Live, and PSN. They could have sold it much cheaper because they'd have no cost of goods sold.

They are playing on the emotional attachment and nostalgia of the generation ahead of you (mine)... as was noted earlier, all of these games can be had for free on emulators somewhere...

Yeah, illegally, and the experience blows. I've been playing Pokemon Fire Red on my phone but 1) it sucks on a touch screen, 2) it was a pain in the ass to figure out how to install, 3) I can't trade with or battle friends through any legitimate means. The existence of a bootleg version of something does not mean people won't pay for the real thing, especially if the user experience is superior. I think they would have sold a lot more digital passes of these games at half the price than they will the console at $60.

I also think that part if it is the fact that emulators are actually much harder to format on consoles than on CPU.

A computer can pretty much emulate any older game you can think of, whereas even Nintendo's own consoles (Wii, WiiU, and handheld consoles) are supposedly incapable of emulating certain generations of games without intensive work.

If Nintendo has trouble getting certain things to emulate on their own consoles, I'd imagine working with Sony and Microsoft would be wayyyyy on the back-burner, and more expensive.

The Xbox basically runs Windows 10.
