I think the small group of people who follow recruiting were surprised in the sense that it made no sense and you don't want to just assume that the kid is a tool.

It's funny that you mention Ohio State...I was on buckets the other day and Alex Geitman fave a run down on who he believes ends up in their class. He's expecting Danny Clark to grey shirt and is "highly confident" they end up with...Wyatt Davis, Trevon Grimes, Tyson Lindsey, Cam Akers, Chase Young, Baron Browning, Amir Riep, and Jeffrey Okudah. That would be 9-10 five stars in a 20-21 man class. That is depressing. Silver lining is he believes the Irish can "pose a threat" for Browning, so there's that

He said that he expected most of these guys to commit to tOSU around the time of Ohio St's Friday night lights camp(in the 2nd week of July, I believe. As far as Browning he said he feels they lead but if he takes OV's it'll be to Texas and Notre Dame. He also said that if they get Okudah it would help with Browning. The reason all this kind of worried me was because he said of all of them the one he had the least confidence in was Wyatt Davis and now everyone is predicting him to Ohio State on Friday FWIW

Lol. If the buckeyes sign 10 - five stars, I'm fairly certain it will be the greatest recruiting class ever, on paper. Usually there are no more than 20 five stars, if tOSU signs half, they'll be a juggernaut for the next 3 years.

Even Bama's best years included 6 - 5 star players on 247. I went back to 2009 and no team beat that mark. If tOSU gets 10, it'd be one of the most lopsided classes in any major sport. Twice as good as the fab 5 class at Michigan.

Just listened to a podcast on 247 where IRISH sports radio interviewed him and asked him a plethora of questions. He said that Kaindoh and Gilmore have been talking recently and that Maryland is stepping back in talks with Kaindoh and just believing he is done with his recruitment as far as seeing what else is out there.....but he's been talking to Gilmore. I like it. Don't wanna get my hopes up or anyone else's but thought I'd mention it. Tom also said Sarrell, Philips, Graham are all 50/50 coin flips but they're all visiting in the fall.
