We made his top 5 along with Bama, Clemson, OSU, and Michigan. OSU is the leader and has been for awhile. Is going to look to take visits once camp season is over but a decision could come at any time. Good news OSU can't sign all of the DT's in the country. Bad news is they are certainly going to get a few good ones that we were in the running for.

“Well, of any Ivy League school I had to choose from, truly, that would be the school,” said Ewell of Notre Dame. “Right now, Notre Dame, if there is an Ivy League school to choose from, that would be the school.”

“Coach Booker, I’ve been talking to him every now and then,” said Ewell. “We’ve talked about the SAT, seeing what it takes to get in, if I choose to go that way.

“I’ve heard the helmet is really gold. I’ve always heard that. I always thought it was a myth. I’m done the research. So, that’s a big part of it. The history behind it. I’m just trying to travel. Trying to branch out. Trying to get away from Virginia.”

Recruiting analyst: Darnell, tell us why you picked the Irishs over everyone else. Was it the academics, the storied history, the tradition or a combination?

Ewell: It was the gold helmets. Once I found out they had real gold in the paint, I knew where I wanted to go.

Loy put out a pretty optimistic update yesterday on a few prospects, including Ewell. So TIFWIW, but he said that Ewell isn't a take for OSU and that in turn is pushing him towards ND. In fact, Loy seems to think this could end sooner rather than later. He also mentioned that Ewell might take DWP's spot as there might be only 1 DT spot left.

Personally, I'd take 3 DT's since we didn't take any last year, but that's just me. Also, who knows if that's Loy creating hype or actually quality info.
