Can't play interior DL I assume? Want him based on his want-to, but can see that he's likely to never play OL with how well we recruit it.
Best of luck to him.
Hope we have a good relationship with him though, because a year from now things may be different

Got upgraded to a 4* on rivals and cracked the 250 at #250
Bringing this thread back from the dead. Made solid gains in the rankings including #101 on ESPN and a .9171 Comp. More importantly, he measured in at an even 6-5 and 298 at the Opening regional after being 6-3, 308 last year. Sounds like he hit a growth spurt and has been working out. His scores reflect the work with a 4.86/40 and a 4.72 shuttle.
Is this something that could be revisited? Supposedly the knock was size, not ability.
I doubt it. We're in a much better spot for higher ranked guys like Smith, Wills, Sarrell, Davis, etc.
Smith and Sarell play different positions. There's zero chance with Davis. Wills is the only potential OG at ND and I don't think he's thinking guard at this point.
Damn.......that's too bad, if so.
You just look at that picture and feel bad that those two aren't gonna be playing hereIn Crusader's world, Matt goes to an elite Prep school while he rehabs and joins ND's Class of '18 as a 6-5, 305lb OG.
Everybody was worried about his length before but he has definitely grown. Measured in at 6-5 which is believable with the Pace guys, Thomas and Salyer measuring in at 6-4.5 & 6-3.5 respectively.
He also ran the second fasted 40 of any lineman in attendance. Only Josh Meyers beat him, 5.13 vs 5.16. Jeddrick Wills was next at 5.18.
Impossible to question the OL recruiting but it's tough for me to follow kids who start off the process as life long ND fans and become players at other institutions like these two below. In most other years, Sean Clifford and Matt Bockhorst are both Irish.
