What does that have to do with anything? The Lebrons still lose to OKC, San Antonio and certainly the Warriors in the Finals.

BTW...Pacers have held their own quite well against the Lebrons. Without looking at it, I'm sure they beat them at least a couple of times.

The Cavs swept OKC this year so by your first point, your Pacers point is a waste of server space.

Stop bro, you are going to destroy our century old, national reputation as basketball savants in a single internet exchange.

...and Indy sucks. That's why everyone with Vincennes and higher degree lives in Hamilton, Boone or Hendricks Co.

The Cavs still don't beat OKC in the finals, should they make it that far. The Lebrons will still be in the finals, this year and probably the next few...to get beat by team "X" from the West.

I actually live in Johnson County...just barely south of County Line Road (Marion County). Indy can be rough but it is certainly not CLEVELAND.

I like Indianapolis a lot, and I'll defend it against criticism from people back on the East Coast (where I'm from) but I do think it's pretty hard to criticize Cleveland without also criticizing Indy. Cleveland has one of the top hospitals in the country and one of the finest orchestras in the world. Indy has a place where you can watch cars drive in a circle for an hour.

"The Lebrons". Cute. Gets funnier every time you type it.

This time of year it gets nuts on the west side of town with the race.

Orchestras...? Yeah, exactly.

Not looking to start a war defending my hometown but you come off as an arrogant anti Cleveland basher. I'll defend Cleveland as a wonderful place to be raised with a strong fan base whose sports teams havent won a championship in a while. You point out Cleveland and Detroit as "armpits". I'm curious as to why you feel these are your targets to warrant such hate.

You wouldn't have typed that if you had first looked at the crime data.

Pray the Commish doesn't instruct the refs to let the Cavs win. It's in their best interest for LeBron to get one in Cleveland and build that Steph - LeBron rivalry. The history of the cross country rivalry is the only reason the League is what it is today.

I may be coming off harsh and see your point. You should defend your hometown if you passionate about it.

Cleveland and Detroit are two places I've been and don't care to go back...just rough places. "armpit"...my apologies for that comparison.

4th Street I believe it was in Cleveland was a pretty good time though. We went there after the game and had a lot of fun.

I'm praying man...b/c that would suck but you are correct. It is in the league's best interest to have a Bird/Magic type of rivalry.

Thank you and I appreciate your opinion. Guess it's just not for everyone. I find Cleveland to be a city on the up and up. Back in the 70s and 80s I would have agreed that Cleveland was not the cleanest of cities but it's come a long way. I apologize for coming off as an ass hole but I do love me some Cleveland and pray I get to see a championship in my lifetime. Cleveland is starving for a championship of some kind.

You must be from Cleveland.

It doesn't take someone from Cleveland to see how ignorant your constant use of "the Lebrons" is. What team has more depth than the Cavs? Probably the Warriors, maybe the Spurs but their super old, definitely not the Thunder. The Cavs legitimatly can go 10 deep.

This Cleveland vs Indianapolis debate is an exercise in futility. It's like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton arguing who is classier.

Why I am a fan of Cleveland Sports?

I personally like Cleveland better than Indy, but wouldn't go out of my way to convince someone either is a prime destination, unless you are from there and enjoy the familiarity and nuances they both offer.

*sorry for double post. Accidentally clicked "quote" instead of "edit."

Damn, missed it again, didn't see the post that it would replay at noon. I'm curious, did they discuss whether or not Jose Mesa may have been given cash to throw some games in the Indians World Series appearance in the 90s?

Thanks for the link, that finally got me to see it. It's crazy, if you grew up near Cleveland, even if you didn't experience everything that happened (I was too young to remember the Drive and the Fumble, for one, let alone wasn't alive for the Jim Brown days) you KNOW about the history because of family. The near misses and legacies get passed down. There wasn't a whole lot of new information in the 30 for 30 for me, and yet you do get to see a lot of emotion from the players, the coaches, the civic leaders, and the fans that have lived through the heartbreak. I laugh anytime I hear a fan from another town complain about their team(s), they have no idea what it's like to have 3 major teams and go 50+ years since a championship in ANY of those sports.

It feels like they tried to paint Modell in a neutral light, but it's hard for any Cleveland fan to accept that. I'm sure most Cleveland fans will never forget that iconic Sports Illustrated cover with an Art Modell cartoon sucker punching the Browns fan. Some of my earliest memories as a "Cleveland" kid was Bernie leading the Browns. I remember how pissed people were when Testaverde took over at QB, but honestly Bernie's best days were probably behind him at that point as he had taken one to many shots. I remember going to a lot of games at Municipal Stadium when I was really young to see the Indians, and then a few games at the Jake before we moved to Dayton. Never could bring myself to root for the Reds or the Bengals down here, and never will. I think it's just part of the culture, you're born into it and it becomes a part of you. I honestly don't follow Cleveland teams as passionately as I used to. For one, I don't have the time to be as hardcore these days, and two...the Irish give me enough stress in my life  I could never root against them, and could never root for another city's pro teams. The closest I'll come is rooting for Irish alumni.

I'm a Steelers fan, so that automatically makes me anti-Browns. But..............

If you aren't from Cleveland or the surrounding areas, I'm not sure you can appreciate just what a great sports town Cleveland is, or at least used to be. (I left Northeast Ohio 27 years ago and haven't lived there since) Cleveland fans are generally very knowledgeable about their sport. And that knowledge is generally not just related to the hometown team. Many of them can, or could, give you the general history of most other teams in the league as well. They put fans in the seats, win or lose, as long as they aren't embarrassing(I'm looking at you, Ted Stepien). And they are generally realistic about their expectations. I'm not sure, given the fans' general love of the Manziel pick at the time, that this is still the case. But Cleveland traditionally has been a GREAT sports town.

We love every draft pick. They are one of us. See Johnny Manziel> Brandon Weeden> Colt McCoy> Brady Quinn> Charlie Frye>>>>>>>>

We love them because we haven't seen them on the field yet and still have hope that somehow they will actually turn out to be a good pick.

I used QB in the example above bc you were talking about MAnziel but it applies to every position.

You're always supposed to support your starting QB, but the Manziel pick just made zero sense to the competent fan, I couldn't understand the love. A lot of Cleveland fans (Who will remain nameless) embraced him because they thought they should, or they got caught up in the hype, but that's what Cleveland does. They're no different than any other fan base, Redskins fans did the same for RGIII...oh hey...he's in Cleveland now, great.

Anyone that had followed Manziel's college career could see he was going to be a train wreck. There was little chance he was going to clean up his personal life AND learn how to be a Pro QB. He was always the guy that made plays with his feet and relied on Mike Evans to bail him out, he wasn't a Peyton Manning that could dissect a defense and operate with a high football IQ you need in the league. The Manziel pick was a disaster from the first minute.
