I thought it was you I forget who it is, but glad you did. I am just saying I know I deserve it once in awhile but it happened now three years ago. I guess like Super Bad people don't forget

McGlinchey Q Hoge Mustipher Bars

I think Mustipher and Bivin fight it out for RG

Bivin first tackle off the bench, Musitpher first tackle. Staff LOVES Bars I think he starts somewhere and Hoge seems HIGHLY motivated to start at center not saying Musitpher isn't. It's going to be a fun battle and I think only the left side you can pencil in at this point

If Mike simply maintains the status quo established by Martin, then Stanley, I will be content.

Some have said he had a better year then Stanley last year. I think in some way he might upgrade that position and that's no knock on Stanley

In the run game I can see that. In pass protection I'm not sure.

Saying that, Mike Mayock is already extremely high on Mike and thinks he could be a first round pick next year.

How many consecutive First Round LTs does it take to become LTU?

We're already there maaaannn.

Colleges with most NFL draft picks by position | NFL.com

Offensive linemen -- Notre Dame (63)

Just missed: USC (58); Nebraska and Penn State (57 apiece); Michigan (50); Boston College (48); Oklahoma (46); Ohio State (45); Iowa (44); Wisconsin (43)
Number of first-rounders from Notre Dame: 7
Notre Dame's highest selection at position: No. 2 overall, George Kunz (1969 NFL Draft, Atlanta Falcons). Kunz was one of the top offensive linemen of his time, going to eight Pro Bowls representing the Falcons and Baltimore Colts.
Notable: Bob Kuechenberg was a fourth-round (No. 80 overall) selection by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1969 NFL Draft, but he never played a down for Philly. Instead, he spent 14 seasons with the Miami Dolphins, earned six Pro Bowl nods, played in four Super Bowls, winning two -- including the Dolphins' unbeaten 1972 season.

Texas A&M has had the #2, #6, and #21 overall in the last 3 years, so they have us beat at the moment. But we're certainly making a name for ND O-line. Too soon to say but I see Nelson being a 1st rounder despite being a guard, I really think he's that good.

ND isn't even close. They'd only be second in the MAC. CMU's Offensive Line recruits have gone #1, #11 and #28 in the past 8 years.

Damn, should I cancel my TE-U shirt from SportsCrack.com then? We're certainly started to drift away in that area.

I just ordered a "FUSC" shirt and a "Ann Arbor is a Whore" shirt.

No need my friend. Notre dame is number one in that category as well.

Farrell’s take: I love McGlinchey and think he could end up as they No. 1 offensive tackle in this draft if he has a standout year. He’s better than Ronnie Stanley to me and more aggressive.

I know he's good enough to go, but does he have another year of eligibility and could come back for 2017?

Coach D on the latest BGI podcast says that he doesn't think that Big Mike will be ready to turn pro by the end of the year. He loves the guy, he just thinks that he'll need 2 years of experience. I guess we'll see

I agree he is more aggressive than Stanley. But, I can't say he is better than Stanley. Stanley had great feet. So does Mike, but not as good as Stanley.

What... he is gone after this year 100%, barring injury

The sweet part is that Hiestand is such a beast that ND will be completely fine when he leaves.

He didn't say won't be ready, he said he could benefit from staying another year. He said he could go from 1st rounder, to top 10 pick like Stanley.

I don't think he clarified where he thought he'd go in 1st round assuming he leaves after this year, but he implied he'd better his position by staying.

I think Mike could be a top 10 this year. I think Driskel sometimes sees what he hopes happens then talks his way into believing it's best .

McGlinchey may or may not come back. One conversation.

McGlinchey has the best feet of any recent tackle we have had, the best knee bend now, and is the fastest lineman that has played at ND in a while.

When Mike is ready to be done for the Irish, there is every reason to believe he may be the number one overall pick.

If he comes out after this year he won't be the number one tackle picked, yet the number one overall pick. Next years tackle class is loaded. At least 5 tackles, including Mike, could go in the first.

I disagree with you about Mike's feet being better than Stanley's. Stanley has some of the best feet for a tackle in college football in recent memory. Saying that Tunsil's feet are probably a tad bit better.

I love Big Mike and he may end up better than Stanley but completely untrue that he is currently better. If Mike could've went in this years draft, he wouldn't have been drafted ahead of Stanley, period. Really good player but not currently better than Stanley. Hopefully he will be eventually.

McGlinchey does need some work. During the bowl game, I specifically focused in on Bosa vs OLine. I remember the little bit he played vs Bosa and he handled him when Bosa rushed outside. But on one particular play, Bosa hand placement got McGlinchey. Outside pass rush, he is as good as it gets.

Edit: the play I thought was McGlinchey was actually #80 Smythe.

If Big Mike leaves after this upcoming season the only "good" thing I can think of (selfishly) is the Colts might have a chance to draft him...they certainly need someone like him. Should he stay for '17 he'll go way to high in the draft for Indy...probably be a Raider or Brown at that point.
