How does someone like me looking at their picture (out of curiosity more than anything) directly affect their lives?

How does someone videotaping Erin Andrews naked in her hotel room directly affect her life? It's a pretty huge transgression to take or steal nude photos of someone.

I haven't, nor do I plan on, looking the the pics in question. But how the fuck do you draw a parallel between someone here looking at them or posting them in the lounge, and child porn or theft. That's almost criminal in itself.

I never said it was right for someone to hack those photos and post them online. In fact I feel really bad for the women. But that sure as hell doesn't mean I'm not going to look at them now that they are out there. Looking at or not looking at the pictures has 0 impact on the situation at this point.

You are sharing stolen photos and encouraging theft by looking at it. It's the same train of thought as sharing child porn.

I didn't share them with anyone. How am I encouraging theft by looking at a picture? That's like saying I'm encouraging someone to steal the Mona Lisa by buying a ticket to the Louvre.

On this particular situation, you are correct. But I liken it to my 16 month old nephew. If he does something that generates a reaction, he is going to do it again. In this case, the reaction includes the news media and people clicking around the internet hoping to sneak a peek. The attention paid to the pictures and to the story increases the likelihood of a copycat. So, it's not about these pictures, but it is about the next crop of women. Is one person viewing or not viewing the pictures going to change that? No. But the only way you or I can influence the next person to not do this is by ignoring this act.

In theory you make an admirable and logical point. But practically, there's nothing any one person or 1,000,000 people could do do "deter" a hacker from doing this again. Posting celebrity nudes can't be deterred. It just can't. It's so scandalous and so interesting to so many people (even if they decide not to look) that there will always be guys out there who will try this again.

I see your point as well and won't argue against it. In light of that, I will still use my voice, or lack of clicks in this case, to not support it. In my utopia, that makes things better, even if it is so very marginal.

That's fine and totally up to you. I was just responding earlier to the OP who tried to say anyone who looked at them was a "creep."

Certainly fair points.

Seriously.... just ignore Title. He's been taking the outlier point of view and running with it for a while. If you were in the rioting thread, you'd know what I'm talking about. I looked at and helped other see the pictures. I like boobs. Don't tell me you've never wanted to see what was under that body paint of K Upton or the clothes of JLaw. The opportunity presented itself and we all ran with it.

Have you listened to music that was downloaded via limewire or torrent? Watched movies on the internet? I know they're not the same because these things I listed don't invade one's privacy, but it can be argued the way they were obtained is similar.

These girls knew there was a risk of this happening the second they snapped the pictures on their phones. Everyone who has taken a nudie on the phones knows something like this could happen. Chill out, man.

I really don't like this reasoning. This is 0% their fault.

I get why you say that, I do. But there was always the inherent risk that these would leak. Imagine if they just lost their phone, someone found it, then sold these pictures to TMZ. Same shit. It just sounds worse because it involves hackers.

Eh not exactly. In the situation you gave they are doubly at fault because they were careless in leaving their phone behind and unlocked which inherently implies that they aren't concerned with their own security or what's on their phone. This situation is more like them leaving their phone at home, locking the doors, and some guys come in and steal it.

But yeah per the usual Title is taking his small truth and turning it into something ridiculous by saying that we now kill puppies or whatever for looking.

Les Miles is taking quite the heat for making a familiar statement.

"She doesn't have the chest to compete in the SEC", Miles stated in his Sunday presser.

One scout was quick to fire back with.

"He is an idiot for not recognizing her potential and if he would take a look at her tape he would be able to recognize the type of chest she really has."

I had a grand scheme to make her sister-wife to my current wife.

Guess I didn't act quickly enough.
