As a Cowboys fan, I love to have him on the team.

However, the Cowboys needed a player to help this year on the defense and should have drafted someone who can play now. Disappointed not in the pick but the round given Smith's injury.

So so so happy for Jaylon. Is he at Chippewa bowl right now?? He's definitely at some bowling alley...

Curious about whether this is a good result economically for him or not. Perhaps he was hoping to be picked lower to maximize the tax-free payout under his insurance policy?

Insurance is tax free.

If I were him, I would invest half in land and put half in savings. Don't go crazy spending money on 'stuff' till you get on the field and earn your contract.

I'm an Eagles fan so I hate this pick. He will terrorize them for years to come. This is the long term steal of the draft. If I were you I'd be cracking the champagne about now!

Easily my favorite ND player ever. If he wasnt a cowboy i'd be buying his jersey. Lived up to and exceeded every expectation I ever had for him out of HS.

Definitely happy for Jaylon! Much deserved. This Patriot fan will now be pulling for the Cowboys except when they are playing the Pats.

I can't believe that I'm happy about the Cowboys drafting a player I love.
My respect for Jaylon out ways my disgust for Dallas

Idiot Cowboys fans don't deserve Jaylon. Happy for him going this high but I wish he went somewhere else.

I think Jerry will be patient and supportive. Not a Cowboys fan, but thinking this is actually a good place for him to land.

Lord knows Jerry has been patient with plenty of guys who are harder to root for than Jaylon.

Exactly. Jerry knows he got a good kid. The fact Jerry's docs treated Jaylon has me more optimistic than ever about his recovery.

Cool that he'll get to break into the league with a good friend in Ezekiel Elliott and a former teammate in Zack Martin. Great situation for Jaylon.

They are using their heads, we are using our hearts. Big difference. We are the people at a casino enthralled by the POSSIBILITY instead of the PROBABILITY.

Every Cowboys picked has been looking ahead to 2017. Have not addressed any needs and took risks on injured players. Not sure what they are doing and I'm getting sick of ND players I love going to Dallas but it was a good long-term decision for them obviously.

I'd be skeptical of taking anyone with Jaylon's injury, but if the Cowboys Doctor did the surgery and they still took him earlier than expected....well, who else would know better? I'm indifferent to the Cowboys, but I'll be following to see what happens to JS.
