Does anyone know if any teams have stopped in to check on him in person or have their doctors check him out?

the way all the jibber jabber on espn is that his re-check didn't go as well as they would have liked. idk if that means his personal re-check or the team dr. re-checks.

Maybe not..but there is no way you can let a guy with all of his physical characteristics and skill slip after round 2-3. It's not like every year an NFL team drafts and says "oh no we never have a miss on our 2nd or 3rd pick". Literally every single team in the league will miss somewhere with at least one pick. So why not take him? It's honestly silly to me if you have a need at LB in the 2nd-3rd round and you pass on Jay..even more so if you aren't a top tier team and know you have a year or two to develop into a team that can actually contend.

King saying in his mock that they could view him as the 1st rounder they were stripped of this year.

It's a crazy mixed up world when I would be forced to root against Jaylon with a passion.

They don't deserve a player like Jaylon.

I don't think he lasts that long. I think that some team in long term rebuild mode who has lots of picks this year (Titans or Browns jump to mind) pick him in the third before the Patriots get the chance.

at this point, I just want him to go somewhere, where he'll be a good fit and have a great career.

What if...there was no knee injury? Jaylon fakes an injury to collect a guaranteed $5 million in insurance. He signs a deal with a team that is willing to "take a chance on him" for reduced pay in a later round, with the stipulation that he can renegotiate based on performance. He plays and excels his first year and negotiates a heftier contract in his 2nd year.

Can't remember an ND kid that I have wanted to succeed in the NFL more than Jaylon.

Bonus: Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame: How would this draft class be viewed if Jack and Smith were healthy? Once seen as a potential top overall pick, Smith's landing spot is a mystery after he suffered nerve damage and two torn knee ligaments in the Fiesta Bowl. Not expected to play in 2016, Smith could still find a home in the third round. If he regains form, this could be the steal of the draft.
Perfect fit? Jacksonville Jaguars: Why not? General manager David Caldwell has built a young roster designed for future success. The front office is under pressure to win, but a mid-round flier on Smith would make Caldwell and coach Gus Bradley look like masterminds if he rounds back into shape.

IMO, great landing spot for Jaylon. Jerry will be patient and stand behind him.

Well if the Browns can't have him I'm glad the Cowboys snagged him. I'm really happy for Jaylon.

Hate the Cowboys a little less now. Real happy for Jaylon and wish him a long productive career.

This is great. Obviously they felt confident that he will fully recover since their own Dr. did the surgery. It's one thing for the Dr. to be optimistic to the media but I would assume he would be a little more open to his employers. Good luck Jaylon!

Yeah I might have to pull for the Cowboys on the down-low. Zack Martin and Jaylon Smith? So my two favorite Irish players of the last five years?
