What are your past beers of the year?

In past years, when I discovered them, not when they were brewed so much.... In order of rememberacne more than by year... Beers at rocked me that given year and raped my wallet thusly...

Belhaven Scottish ( on tap)
Celebrator Double Boch
Little Sumpin Sumpin Ale
Latitude 48
Karl Strauss Mosaic IPA( last year)
Deschutes Red Chair NWPA

Ah yes, I seem to recall a lot of fuss about the Karl Strauss now. Little Sumpin Sumpin did the same to my wallet.

As of now it's Stone Delicious unless I can get Lost Coast Watermelon Wheat regularly... That beer rocked me but I've only seen it in one place ever....

2 beers from opposite ends of the suds spectrum:

I tried Sierra Nevada Otra Vez Gose. I think I found my summer beer. It's light and crisp but still has a taste presence. The fruitiness is light enough so it doesn't seem like you're drinking a wine cooler. Good stuff.

At the other end of the spectrum, I finally tried Old Rasputin Imperial Stout. The spring weather took a break last nigh and it dropped into the 30s and even snowed for awhile. Blah. So it was porter/stout weather. I grabbed the Old Rasputin. I'm not a big fan of regular stout but the imperials are up my alley. This stuff was good, but not up to the hype I've been hearing about for years. I think Stone's Imperial Russian Stout is better.

Over the weekend I had some good local beers and
Goose Island Bourbon County Stout 2015
Firestone Sucaba (which is flat out amazing)

Also tried a new coffee Starbucks Single Origin Sulawesi. I enjoyed it but if you don't like herbal notes in your coffee it probably isn't for you.

Right now some Rodney Strong Charlotte's Home Sauvignon Blanc 2014. A pretty good white wine. It would pair really well with some fish or spicy asian food.

I had the new Anchor Go West IPA tonight. Not bad but nothing special, kind of reminded me of a poor man's Deschutes Fresh Squeezed.

Scored a few bottles of KBS last week, tried one tonight for the first time, phenomenal although the price tag is quite steep. Going to store a few for a few months and try again.

I tried Natty Ice once and I hated it lol. Natty Light is the official beer of Notre Dame college tailgates

Natty Ice is the drink of true champions. $16 for a cold 30 and almost 6%.

And when I say true champions, I mean just my alcoholic ass. I am the only person I know who drinks the stuff...and even doesn't mind the taste.

Also, the fact that no one likes to steal my beer at parties is pretty excellent.

Original Keystone might be the worst haha

I've been toying with the idea of brewing my own beer at home. Anyone have opinions on that? Not about me brewing beer but brewing beer homemade in general.

Two Brothers Revelry Imperial Red Ale.

Ok, some nice citrus (grapefruit and orange), sweet caramel malt and a little pine. The alcohol is a little too present and it could use some more bitterness but it was pretty good. 85-87.

Going to have some Stone Enjoy By 4.20.16 once it gets cold enough.

Hamm's is and will always be the grossest shit I have ever tasted. The name makes perfect sense because it tastes like the juice from a ham.

My wife's grandpa in Wisconisn always drank Hamm's Special Light and since I drink what the host serves I have had my fair share. While it is not good, there is definitely worse beer out there such as Natty, and Coors Light.

ETA: Add the Beast to that list as well (Milwaukee's Best Light), it might be the worst beer.

Agreed. A great beer that is very expensive.

I think it's a great idea! I have a friend who's a pro at it and I think it's awesome when I stop by and he's got all this good beer that he made. That said, I myself have made a few batches of beer with very mixed results. I'm just telling you this in case it doesn't turn out how you expect it to. Don't give up! Cleaning and sterilizing are key. Anyway, if you have a little extra time and a little extra money I think it's a really cool hobby. Good luck, and I'd love to hear how it turns out.

Thank you for the input. I've looked into it, a little. It appears to be a fun experience other than the fact you have to let it sit for 4-6 weeks I believe. I'd hate to do it. Wait 6 weeks and then it taste like garbage but I guess that's the fun part. Haha
