Does St Thomas Aquinas HS have someone else we really want and we are trying to do what we did with Adams and Hinish? Not impressed. Would rather have waited a little longer and continue to work on Phillips, Wilder, Brooks, McBride and Nasirildeen.
His last name is fitting given how Caucasian our 2017 class is so far.

Pro style qb already committed to UF. Grimes is a badass at WR and is most like;y all OSU. I dont think taking Drew W. has anythign to do with us and any of these kids. He is the best LB on a top HS defense in the country. The staff ID'd him and got what they wanted, imo. I think we are trying to follow that white Stanford LB badass model they've had/have.
I thought the same thing. We will be the intense defense that Stanford had during the late Harbaugh / early Shaw years
Wiltfong was told that he is already over 230 pounds

247 only showing us recruiting Trevon Grimes and Jake Allen from the '17 class. Allen is a 3Pro style qb already committed to UF. Grimes is a badass at WR and is most like;y all OSU.
247 only showing us recruiting Asante Samuel Jr. from the '18 class.
Michael Deeb?
Let's remember, Grimes is from Indy. He's made it no secret that he likes his Midwest teams over the Southeast teams. Yes, he has openly said he grew up liking OSU. A lot of Indy kids have that affliction for some reason. But I'm not writing Grimes off. If ND takes advantage of it's down schedule this year and OSU trips up for a season, he could be a player who goes with what's hot. All too many do. BTW, Foster Sarell is the only player I'd want more than Grimes in this class.
Asante Samuel Jr.'s another interesting case. His Pop's went to UCF so at least he's not the son of an All Pro DB who also went to one of the Big 3 down there. He might be the type of kid that has the independence to go where he wants. He'll get his ND offer soon enough. Profile's already written.
Either way, having the defensive captain on board can only help with both of the ther players.
I agree it cant hurt is, just dont see it being the reason for offer/acceptance of commitment from Drew.
If we somehow landed Grimes.........![]()
Notre Dame has landed commit No. 4 from its huge Junior Day weekend.
Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas two-star linebacker Drew White gave a verbal pledge to the Irish just two days after receiving an offer from Notre Dame while in a meeting with head coach Brian Kelly.
“I loved it,” White said when asked about Notre Dame. “It’s different than other schools. It’s private. It’s Catholic. So it’s different — but it has all of that little things that stand out, especially with the sports being intertwined with the academics.”
White, who is ranked as just a two-star prospect, also held offers from Ohio State, LSU, Michigan, North Carolina State, Wisconsin and West Virginia. He posted a team-high 101 tackles and three sacks for a St. Thomas Aquinas squad that won the Class 7A state title this past season.
“I think I fit their defense really well,” White said. “Watching practice I could see that my school runs some similar things which was cool.”
White’s brother, Sean, is a quarterback at Auburn that was at one time being recruited by Notre Dame.
“I have always been a fan of Notre Dame, and that’s a team that I have always kind of followed,” White said. “I have watched them play on TV and they were really just interested in me and kept saying that they wanted to see me, and I have never really been to campus, so I wanted to get up there and see what the environment was like.”
The 6-1, 210-pound White becomes commit No. 8 in Notre Dame’s 2017 class, and joins quarterback Avery Davis, linebacker David Adams and defensive tackle Kurt Hinish as pledges from the past weekend.
I like him better than Deeb coming out of high school.

Does this mean we will soon have a troll stop in and post a video of him getting owned at a camp? Lol wasn't that TTT that posted it?
Offers from ND, LSU, OSU and scUM and he's rated a two star? I'm going out on a limb and say the services are missing something.
maybe he hasn't been to many camps?
"Every offer is a blessing,” said Samuel Jr. “But this offer is special because if I were to go there, I can play with my teammate Drew White, who is an outstanding player and great leader."

I really like how this kid plays in his tape. Very solid.
