I would love to see us defend that ACC title! Double bye goes a long way to make that happen, especially given our short bench.

Don't really care about NCAA seeds for a few more weeks. Seems silly to even think about it with so much ball left to be played. In or out is all the further that convo needs to go now, IMO.

Pretty much how I feel. Our matchups will determine more than any seed will...still nice to see us inching closer to a top-4 seed where we would get a friendly location.

Ya tomorrow's game is definitely gonna be the toughest game left then @FL ST. We by far have the easiest schedule for all the top contenders. The remaining schedule is a combined 28-40 and our toughest games are at home so if we can get past tomorrow then finishing the year on a huge winning streak could definitely be a possibility.

According to teamrankings.com these are our percentage to win the games left
Louisville-43.2%
FL ST-44.1%
GT-49.1%
Miami-52.0%
Wake forest-71.5%
NC ST-76.9%

We run the table we are probably in the top 10 leading into the ACC tourney. Might be worst case 3 seed at that point even if we drop in the first round. Might be lowest drop off from #1 overall and worst 2 seed/top 3 seeds that we have seen in a long time.

We always get crappy match ups, just like getting stuck in KY's bracket last year - had those punks in the crosshairs too. That game was Finals worthy.

I hate thinking about that game it still haunts my dreams. Should have won.

The only thing is that with so many upsets this year it's hard to trust or think we could run the table. I really hope we do and I think we can but all the away games their just gonna be gunning for us and we have not exactly played great @GT.

Should be an interesting next couple weeks to finish this season off. I hope we are trending in the right way!

While the Clemson win was refreshing, I will continue to temper my hopes of a win out or even one loss finish. The road play has been too inconsistent for me to count on at this point.

Massive game today at 4:00. Need this one badly. We've got a full week to go until the next game, so no excuses.

Also, a crazy amount of teams lost in the top-25 this week. We could honestly jump as high as #15 with a win today.

Zach with his typical, off self. Rarely does he string together good wins.

Dj playing hero ball with 20 St the half (5 for 7 from 3, including a 4 point play).

Nice to see Vasturia play aggressively this second half. That play a minute ago by VJ Beachum (the one where he caught the deflected pass, drove and went up against the 7 footer, adjusting in the air and made a nice layup) makes me wonder why he doesn't score more points. He is long, can shoot well and is pretty athletic. If he was more aggressive, I think he could easily average 15-20 per game.

Got the lead, but this has the look of a game where the Irish run out of gas due to a lack of a bench. I hope I'm wrong! Go Irish!!!

Looking good. Up 4 with 30 seconds to play. Great effort the second half and Steve Vasturia had, what was probably, his best half of basketball in his Irish career. Can't believe the irish are out rebounding Louisville by more than 10 despite the fact that Louisville has multiple 7 footers.

Massive win. Really think we can win the ACC regular season like the announcers alluded to. We can easily go 5-0 as we should be favored the next 5. We've got the tiebreaker over UNC and they have a very difficult schedule to end the season.

Wow. Crazy to beat the #13 team in the country...despite getting ZERO points from the bench. I thought they might run out of gas, but DJ and Vasturia played excellent games and Auguste was dominant on the glass. GO IRISH!!!

Brey develops his players as well as any coach in the country. Look at Jackson and Vasturia their freshman years and look at them now.

I don't think people knock his player development, or even his in-game coaching. I think the consensus is that recruiting is too often lacking, and that he should be developing better recruits. But in fairness Jackson was an HS All-American haha

He is a good developer. Just imagine if he could get one guy from Chicago every now and then, or keep more in-state Indiana talent.

at Georgia Tech: with a week off to refocus, I don't see them losing this game
at Wake Forest: that's 10-15 Wake, if they lose they should be left there
at Florida State: tough call
vs Miami: could define the whole season
vs NC State: They could have a losing record by this game, it would look bad to blow it here.

We are going to go shooting up the polls when they come out Monday.

We were 28th this past week in the AP.

Who we WILL jump:
--#27 Indiana went 1-1 this week
--#26 South Carolina went 1-1 this week
--#25 Wichita State lost today to unranked Northern Iowa
--#24 Texas went 0-2 this week
--#23 USC is 0-1 and plays tomorrow
--#21 Baylor went 1-1 this week
--#15 Texas A&M went 0-2 this week
--#13 Louisville went 0-2 this week

Who we MAY jump:
--#11 Oregon went 0-2 this week
--#16 SMU went 0-1 this week (playing Gonzaga now)
--#17 Arizona plays USC tomorrow (we should jump with a loss)
--#18 Purdue went 1-1 (one ranked win, one ranked loss)
--#20 Providence went 1-1 this week

Who will JUMP ND
--#30 Duke beat Louisville and Virginia

Going by that, we should be ranked anywhere from #16-21 on Monday...would be sweet to crack the top-20.

One thing that was a bit unfortunate today was late in the game, when ND was inbounding and expecting to get fouled and have to make FTs, whoever was inbounding the ball passed it to Auguste, and it sounded as though the whole crowd yelled 'no!' Auguste quickly passed it Beachem, I think, who was fouled. Still, it was awkward.

Then, Auguste went to line the next possession and nailed his two FTs. Good for him.

...What? The only loss came in the regular season to Duke last year.

If you're trying to spin this into a postseason play issue, you've done so pretty poorly.

We don't play for 6 days, so I don't mind looking ahead. We are currently tied in 3rd in the ACC.

To win the ACC regular season, we need to:

1) Finish 5-0 (at GT, at Wake, at FSU, vs. Miami, vs. NC State)
2) UNC to finish 5-2 (vs. Pitt, vs. Duke, vs. Miami, at NC State, at Virginia, vs. Cuse, at Duke)
3) Virginia to finish 4-1 (vs. NC State, at Miami, vs. UNC, at Clemson, vs. Louisville)
4) Miami to finish 5-2 (at FSU, vs. VT, at UNC, vs. Virginia, vs. Louisville, at ND, at VT)

Going 5-0 is a lot to ask for, but, assuming we do that, it doesn't seem that unlikely that everything else would fall into place for us to finish 1st.
