I have a feeling that at this time next year, Johnny Football will be out of the league.

Not that I like Johnny but that was the only reason I would have watched them the rest of the season. As a lifelong Browns fan, this is the first year I can remember that I have not watched them hardly at all. There is nothing on this team that is compelling to watch. What a clusterfvck of an organization.

Such a waste.

Because I already ate my crow with this kid. He has talent. He could be great. What gives?

And the best part of it is that more than half of the people around here are STILL defending him and his antics. Unreal. Dude is a washout.

This whole organization needs blown up again. I can't believe they continue to make the same mistakes regardless of who is in charge.

I don't know the answer, so this is an honest question.

Have the Browns really continued to make the "same mistakes" or just continue to make "mistakes"? Like... what mistakes in particular to they keep repeating? Or are they just experts at making all kinds of mistakes?

Constantly failing at scouting for the draft.
Overpaying free agents.
Introducing terrible uniform designs.

I would argue that those aren't really specific. All bad teams do that (sans the uniforms). It's kinda unfair to say that they "keep making the same mistakes" because they may have approached drafting and FA's differently each of those times. The result of those decisions may have been the same, but they may not have been the same specific decisions.

Drafting punky QB's that don't work out - Bad decision

Drafting a bad player with their 1st pick - Bad Result

It's not like they can simply quit drafting or picking up FA's. So those aren't "the same mistakes", rather they are the "same results".

I'm not even surprised when the Browns do something stupid anymore, it's almost a given at this point. It's funny to think people actually jumped on the Moneybadger bandwagon and thought he was going to wreck the league. He's always been the kid that didn't want to grow up. He's been a con artist since day 1. There was no way his bullshit on the field was going to translate to success at the next level, and his bullshit off the field just makes him a big problem for any organization. I could see some team taking a chance on him just for publicity and to sell some jersies, but I don't expect him to get his shit together and somehow become a good pro QB. Only the Browns...

Same mistakes as far as incompetent GM's who think they are smarter than everybody else. Coaches without a pulse. If you look at the history of their #1 picks the last 10 years or so, it is downright scary.

Agree. Before he was drafted I said I just couldn't see him being successful. His attitude and lack of commitment certainly didn't translate to success and I felt his game didn't either. There's a reason the NFL isn't overflowing with "scrambling, play by the seat of your pants" QB's. Lord knows there's a lot of them playing college ball.

Yeah, I get that... but that's not making the same mistakes, just getting the same results. I don't recall any of their recent coaching calls being regarded as poor at the time of hiring or following a specific pattern. I guess that is all I was saying, that they have been terrible for a long time. But they aren't making the same bad mistakes (ie drafting a WR four seasons in a row for instance) every year. They have been pretty good at finding new and creative ways to make mistakes. ;)

I don't know if the kid had anything to do with this incident or not. But he simply CANNOT stay away from trouble. If ever there was a poster boy for how sports and money can ruin a human being, it would have to be one Johnny Manziel.

Police called to investigate incident involving Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel

Manziel was raised a piece of shit. Money and sports just made it more public. He was a piece of shit before he started school. He was a piece of shit during his Heisman season. He's been a self-absorbed, useless prick since then. He was busy getting arrested for being an asshole before he was popular and wealthy.

I don't wish ill on anyone (typically...). He needs to get his stuff together to become a productive member of society. It's bad right now.

This guy is about to implode. I just don't know how dramatically. Somewhere on a scale between Ryan Lead and OJ.

Perfect statement from his agent. He could have easily bashed him into the ground with that statement but he admits he has done everything he can possibly do for JM and his work here is done.

He's always been wealthy, no? His family is very well off I believe. He comes across a bit like the Affluenza kid except he has athletic ability that was unfortunately bestowed on someone incapable of being grateful and appreciative.

Hated him at A&M. Only thing he ever did that I'll appreciate was he lit up Bama.

Yes albeit with a shady history on how they acquired their wealth
