Only way ND to face Clemson until then is playoffs correct? They can't be in a bowl together lower than that due to the conference agreement I think.

I think we can play them in a bowl game outside of the playoffs. Not positive tho. I'm basing that off of the fact that a lot of people predicted a Notre Dame vs Florida State match-up this year. Either way, I'd rather have Gary anywhere that isn't Michigan.

Lawrence and Gary together in the middle of a defense would be absolutely terrifying.

Having said that, ND doesn't play Clemson until 2020, and both of those guys will be gone by then, so I say make it happen.

They already have Wilkins who is studly.

was sweating bullets thinking he was going to OV to Bama. Saban/Bama just seem to land whoever the hell they want. #1 class like 5 years running.

His mother still plans for them to come to Bama as an unofficial after the Clemson OV. I think he ends up at Michigan in the end, but getting LandMassed by Ole Pi$$ or a late Saban hail mary would not completely shock me.

His mother also stated several times (several months ago) that they wanted to visit ND before making a decision. Either his mother is a liar, or Rashan is running the show.

Maybe. In the end I think he and Harbaugh will be belly to belly in a twin bed.

We will ever see him regardless unless we play U of M in a bowl game.

ND and Michigan have open dates in '18 & '20 or '21.

In '18, if ND moved Ball St from 9-8 to 9-1, they could play Michigan who needs a 12th game that year and has that day open

Works out for ND because '20 & '21 Purdue is the only P5 opponent besides ACC, SC, Stan. Meaning there is no Texas, MSU, UGa, tOSU on the schedule.

At this time, with a new AD coming to Ann Arbor and schedules that would accommodate a 2 game series, I'd say it's a strong possibility that it happens. That would fall in line with the hints that CBK dropped last year regarding it resuming.

Do not want. Hate playing Michigan. Too much vitriol for too regional of an opponent.

Didn't they offer and sign a couple of his buddies, hire his HS coach, have a job opening for his mom, build a Big House replica for his dog...etc

Report: No. 1 overall recruit Rashan Gary down to Michigan and Clemson

“The academics, and the academic support, I was pleasantly surprised with everything at Clemson,” Gary’s mom, Jennifer Coney told Scout.com. “The staff, the whole staff, the whole student body. I’m not talking about the football players, and the football players were phenomenal, but the whole student body. The players want them to recruit good football players because it’s only going to make them better.

“The football players didn’t feel threatened. They were embracing him. Rashan liked that. They were giving Rashan so much love, and I liked that. There were some schools that were like, ‘Oh, Rashan Gary.’ and knowing the (competition) would be there. But not Clemson. Those kids, oh my gosh.”

Latest in Clemson Recruiting: Rashan Gary and Defensive Backs

You have likely read the tweets about eating at the Smokin Pig and the best dining Clemson has to offer. You also saw his entourage of recent 5* enrollees (Dexter Lawrence, Shaq Smith, Christian Wilkins). The visit went very well both from a 'fun' standpoint, fitting into the Clemson family culture, but also an educational standpoint. Clemson needed to sell its academics a bit because Michigan really scored points in that area with classes, professors, and academic prestige. Almost more importantly, Clemson needed to win a slightly different educational battle and clear the record on certain things (not even going to allude to what those might be). I also think that Michigan might underestimate (certainly the national analysts have) how important family is to Gary and his mother. Gary's family is right down the road in Anderson and very supportive of Clemson and Gary in whatever decision he makes. However, there is something to the safety and security of having family right down the road...

The ability for our Athletic Director AND University President to meet and answer questions for an extended period of time is a recruiting asset almost unheard of at other P5 schools. AD's often get in the act but the University President?

So, does that Paramus Catholic coach at UM keep his job, if they don't bring in Gary?

I sincerely doubt that Michigan wants to schedule us. Like Ohio State. Natural, but one-sided.

Michael Onwenu, OG, who visited MSU, reaffirmed his commitment to Michigan.

Victor Viramontes, who was one of the decommits after a summer commitment after a satellite camp, may be considering Michigan. He is a QB in h.s. But VV was never slated to play there at Michigan. A possible Safety. Room? We'll see.

All the more drama we need is for Greg Mattison to take a job in the NFL after Gary's commitment. (It's just business.)
