Upshot for the Rest of the Class (2016 Edition)

If those in the know would like to put a percentage odd for each of the following situations that would be helpful in regards to how they think we will finish this class.

I'm sorry, but if we finish with Jones only, it's going to be a huge disappointment. Love me some Jones, but JUST Jones vs Jones and Kelly or Jones and Robertson is a big difference when we're so close to getting over the big bowl hump. Those are instant impact players and their lack of signing with ND would be magnified by the fact that we lose Smith and Fuller (w/eligibility remaining mind you- just a little extra salt in the wound, not that either SHOULD HAVE come back). What sucks even more is that we will be under the 85 limit which means we will be forced to extend a 5th year offer to some marginal talent who will be a huge net-negative compared to either Robertson and/or Kelly, even as true frosh.

Here's to hoping a lot of this is smokescreen and we land at least one of the two (Kelly 1st and foremost just because the defense is in much more of dire need of impactful talent).

I keep seeing a number of posters say this. Is it because of how poor our defense was last year? Because our relatively good offense just lost something like 80 or 90% of it's catches from a year ago. And the one piece that was fairly consistent (outside of the running game) was Will Fuller, who is gone.

I think DRob is as important as anyone else in this class. When we have a burner on the outside, we are able to do a lot of things including score points and have nearly 2 - 1000 yard rushers.

We are going to greatly miss Fuller because no one else on our roster has his speed down field (at least not that we've seen). I'm holding out hope some of our rising underclassmen can offer us something.

Sometimes I think Loy takes too much of what the kid is saying and acts as if its fact. So I think there could be some misinterpretation here. However, I'd agree. If true, it makes zero sense to just stop recruiting him.

Did we stop recruiting him because we don't want 7-8 DBs in a class? That's like taking 8-10 OL in a class.

Not that i wouldn't love to add Hamlin to the class.

Very questionable if true. Love could have easily been moved to offense if it were a matter of numbers, especially considering we were going after johnson.

It might have something to do with the OLB committed to Oklahoma that isn't signing his LOI on signing day. Could be wrong.

Wish that were true, but I doubt it. Saw an article on CBS Sports where it showed 247 had Kelly 95% to OU. The other 5% was cloudy. ND not even mentioned.

TIFWIW: There was talk on a OU board that Kelly was supposed to inform the coaches today where he was going. No one could confirm if this info was correct or not but it was posted before the news of OU offering the new LB came out.
