Robertson is not expected to gain admittance into Stanford, which would make the Cardinal a serious player if he did, as Robertson sees what Christian McCaffrey has done as a versatile athlete in David Shaw’s offense.
At this point, if the decision came down to a pure football standpoint, it would be Alabama. On the other side of things, if the decision came down to purely academics, the Irish would be trending.
Another thing that’s clear – the race to sign Robertson is nowhere near over as the 6-foot, 175-pound athlete goes back and forth between his favorites.

lol so typical, everyone goes all in on some circumstantial news only to be crushed by the reality of college recruiting - myself included. LAX is right- this is going to suck when he doesn't come here.

I fully expect him to put on a ND hat come NSD.

Jonathan Jones and Caleb Kelly as well.

If not, going to have one heck of a behind the scenes tunnel vision.

Loy

LOL did Loy really post that verbatim? He has some balls... I respect that.

Let's talk about those 3 guys for a second.

Robertson - going to be a war. We could win, but every school is going to bring their A game here. We'll see what happens. It's going to get nasty with the neg recruiting.

Kelly - I have long maintained that we had a better shot here than most were giving us, but now I almost feel the opposite way. People seem REALLY confident. Why? I think this is a total coin flip right now... I think he's a better fit for ND, but has a better relationship with Oklahoma. It's going to come down to BK closing this one.

Jones - I know ND people are confident. I understand why ND people are confident. But Michigan people are equally or more confident. So who is getting smoke blown up their ass here?

How the staff closes this cycle is going to have huge ramifications for the ND program over the next couple years. All three of those guys are impact players at positions of need.

I never really bought into that kinda thing too much. But when you add up all the signs, it certainly is encouraging.

Yup. Kelly has recruited well but if we want to compete for a NC we need more players like D Rob and Caleb Kelly. A couple 10 win seasons in a row will do wonders for recruiting and we really could take off as a program.

Wiltfong believes ND leads. Steve wants to see what happens this weekend during DR's OV to Alabama before he puts down a CB

Part of me hopes Alabama does something stupid like offer money or sex with coeds. I honestly think that would push him to commit to ND.

BK and his staff certainly has some balls. NSD is really shaping up to be a boom or bust situation. Demtris and Caleb are both elite talents and Jones is a very good talent. They really need to at least land 1 of the 3

So to recap, yesterday morning we were all excited because we allegedly led with out in home that night.

We come out of it, and the news is 'will visit Bama, will retake SAT to try to get into Stanford, and could push his decision past NSD'.

Was expecting some better news than that, lol.

Thought I read he was taking his SAT this weekend and not the Bama trip. Is this false?

Nothing has been decided yet. There are 3 options: 1.) Take the SAT and only visit Bama for one day 2.) Take the SAT and cancel the whole trip 3.) Skip the SAT and go on his 48 hour Bama visit.

Loy thinks he goes on the Bama OV

PER LOY

1 could visit bama for 48hrs
2. might take sat and visit for only 1 day
3. cancel trip all together

he's hearing mom actually prefers ND from a source but is waiting to get her on record and this is coming soon

one source believes our visit on monday was the tipping point to land him

so it appears NO ONE knows for sure anything

So if he skips the visit and writes his SAT's, but doesnt get a good enough score then he is ALL IRISH!!!!!

Does he honestly even pick Stanford if he gets in? He hasn't even visited yet. Why didn't he just visit so he's ready to choose them if he does get in.

Some posters on here believe he is taking the SAT again to get into Stanford. That is a good theory but multiple people with sources have said Stanford isn't an option. So yes, if he cancels his trip to Bama then he is probably headed to Notre Dame.

Then why take the SATs again?

I didn't have to take the ACT again but I did...and did worse...damnit.

It could be for Stanford reasons...it also could be for his own competitiveness to do better the 2nd time around.

Why is this? Earlier in the process, it was said that the only hurdle he had with Stanford was the SAT, if that was the case, why would it not be an option if he improved it? Are you saying that Stanford wouldn't take him? lol

This is a kid that can write his own ticket. There isn't a school in the country that wouldn't take him if he is eligible. If he retook the SAT's and got a sufficient score, then he could move his decision past NSD and not lose interest from anyone. Every single contender (ND, Stan, UGA & Bama) would pursue him until the end. I truly feel that if he takes that SAT again, we could easily see him move his date back to accommodate a visit to see Stanford. That would be bad news for the Irish.

Oh I agree. Pete Sampson and Chad Simmons are saying Stanford isn't happening. Why is that? Your guess is as good as mine

Does anyone think it's possible that he needs a higher SAT score to be admitted to ND? I know the staff likes to check out grades before offering a lot of times but we've seen guys that were committed or had offers that ended up not having the grades to get in.
