Playing Suikoden V on ps2.

Have you ever played III? I got it on a whim, played through a good portion of the game and then never got to finish it. Seems like it got really good reviews though. I remember it being a very different RPG. It was kind of cool switching characters and points of view to see how each side viewed the war.

It's good, albeit not my favorite in the series. The order for me is:

Suikoden II
Suikoden V
Suikoden
Suikoden III

Suikoden IV

Anybody familiar with/use a 3DS?

I'm thinking about investing, just to have something I can pick up and enjoy easily. My interest got piqued when I read about the Nintendo eStore and read that you can download new games, as well as classics.

I'd love to get a 3DS and grab the Fire Emblem games digitally (as well as other, more classic games like Mario or Zelda [which I never played]), but it's hard to see what's actually available. I guess you need the console in hand to search effectively.

I'd wait for the NX.

Based on my quick research, I don't know if I'm "die-hard" enough about Nintendo to wait and buy the console. The controller that doubles as a personal, hand-held system is cool, but I feel like I'd almost rather just have a 3DS that I can pack up and take along easily.

Yeah I get that sentiment, just know you are buying a console that is at the very end of it's lifecycle.

As long as they maintain eStore support on the 3DS for a year or so, I'll feel good. I don't think Nintendo would drop server support THAT quickly, would they?

I think I am going to buy a 3DS XL soon. Nintendo released it less than a year ago, and it included some major hardware updates from the original 3DS. I don't think Nintendo plans on dropping support for it any time soon. Its the only handheld on the market that sells. Sonys PS Vita doesn't sell and they are barely developing games for it.

Contemplating purchasing a system, after 3-4 years without. Fairly certain I'll go with Xbox One.

From what I've seen, I need to purchase

The Witcher
Fallout 4
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Metal Gear Solid 5
Halo 5
Ori and the Blind Forest

Does that sound about right?

Did Destiny end up being a good game after the updates?

I've been playing The Witcher 3 almost exclusively. Sprinkle in some FIFA here and there. I never play SW Battlefront as I predicted before I even bought the PS4.

Witcher 3 is the best game I've played since Skyrim.

That'll definitely be my next purchase:

I'll likely only start with two of these games. Which two are suggested? FYI, I used to play boatloads of Halo but my all time favorite game has been Skyrim. Had 130-150 hrs into it before Christmas (and it was released on black Friday). I treated it like a 2nd job.

I was in Denver at the time so I'd finish work, rush home, put my head phones on and immerse myself for nearly 6-8 hrs. Often going to bed between 2-3 am and writing notes for myself when I'd begin the next evening.

I wasn't married & I didn't have a child. I doubt I'll ever return to that level of immersion but i'm looking for a game that offers a similar experience.

Yeah man. I encourage you not to use subtitles because the acting/cut scenes are really great and part of why the game is amazing. The graphics in general are fantastic.

If you love Skyrim I think you would love the Witcher 3. The sword combat is much better than Skyrim. The main story is probably as good. The side quests are tremendous. It's a bigger open world than Skyrim and the cut/scenes character development are excellent.

If you enjoyed Skyrim that much, go with Fallout. Some things will be a bit different, but it's still a Bethesda RPG. The quests are great, you occasionally get options in how to complete them, and there's a variety of ways you can build your character.

It depends why he loved Skyrim...Was it because of the Norse themes, magic, and swordplay or because of the structure of Bethesda open-world games. If the latter, go with Fallout. If the former, I'd say Witcher 3.

Halo 5 is loads of fun but definitely one of the weaker campaigns of all the Halo campaigns.

I can't state one was more important than the other. It was just one of those games that perfectly aligned with what I wanted to play. It hooked me in the first 5 hours and from there, I was devoted. It sounds like both are worth a try.

Which one will take more time to complete?

I never purchased Halo for the campaigns. The previous 4 Halos, we'd buy day of release, beat the campaign in the first 24-48 hrs on Legendary then go straight to matchmaking and start no scopin and sticky'in fools.

Now I'd get dusted in a hurry. I don't have the reflexes after 3 years away.

I have 175 hours in on my Sniper for Fallout 4. I've completed pretty much every quest I could find, then went back to the Wiki to make sure I hadn't missed any others. You can probably wipe 20 hours or so off that time as I brought up my PipBoy and went to dinner a handful of times. Still, there's plenty of other things I could have done still, and while I cleared probably 75%-85% or more of the locations there are some places on my PipBoy map that I never actually went into, just ran by to pickup the POI. I picked up every settlement available, but for most of them I didn't build much of anything. I kept 90% of the settlements very simple. Also, I didn't end up going back to try the other endings on that save file. I basically played as far as I could with each faction until someone had to die, then I made the leap. I planned on making a save before pissing off a faction and then going back to that save so I could see the other endings, instead I just rolled a new character.

This is all a very accurate illustration of how big Fallout is, but I'd still give the nod to the Witcher. I've played it for countless hours and still feel completely out of my depth most of the time.

I plan on picking it up next Steam sale when it's included. I've heard nothing but good stuff about it, and I really enjoyed Witcher 2. Even though I haven't played it yet, given the reviews I would suggest Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 for Veritate Duce Progredi based on his list. Rise of the Tomb Raider could be good too. I finally got to play the last one that was released a few years ago. It was short, but pretty enjoyable.

Another game I never finished, got real close before my memory card got wiped by an ex. Loved the combat system with the button combos. Up till then a lot of RPGs forced you to choose attacks through a menu and then watch them execute, but LoD was more active than passive. Pretty good early Playstation RPG, and the fact it didn't come from Square surprised me.

Just picked up Ark on the One. Pretty fun so far, it's part of the game preview program on the One so it was only 35 dollars

Didn't know they had Ark on X-Bone. I've got it on PC, played it for a month or two with a buddy. I didn't expect to be able to tame a T-Rex in 2 minutes, but I was surprised how long it takes to tame some of the larger dinos. It almost requires a joint effort with other people, unless the server settings are turned down from default. We lost a bunch of dinos to Alpha Raptor attacks over the course of those few months, those things can be vicious.
