I wonder if Darby is ever going to confirm that he said those things, or if he's going to outright deny them...

Do people really still think he's guilty? Ugh...

Her story here is so bogus and filled with bs like "anyone you ask would tell you I would never go home with a guy period, and especially not three people I didn't know."

OK that means he raped you? and... then you got on his scooter and rode home with him?

Read the case file.

Rape revolves around consent and power. No means no. Especially if someone is impaired. After reading though as much of what was not redacted and listening to her in "The Hunting Ground", there's no question he raped her.

His victim had witnesse to it, a video recording made, and a rape kit done immediately afterwards. They'll have expert medical testimony that she was raped by Winston as well as his friends having to testify about what they observed, interventions and what was on the video that was deleted as well any witnesses to any similiar prior behavior. If he had, a jury of mothers and fathers will see him as a predator and judge him accordingly.

I assume you think Bill Cosby is innocent in which case you may be upset at the testimony and outcome. If you are not familiar with all the facts there, you can read the case file.

“We have an obligation to our students, their parents and Florida taxpayers to deal with this case, as we do all litigation, in a financially responsible manner,” Thrasher said in a statement. “With all the economic demands we face, at some point it doesn’t make sense to continue even though we are convinced we would have prevailed.”

So instead we just gonna stroke a check for almost a mil. Yeah... ok FSU.

Yup, now they are definitely guilty in the eyes of public perception at the very least. That program is a sham, but the school itself is far more disturbing to me. All of this in the name of winning football games... disgraceful is what it is.

Consider that $750k of that were for her "legal fees". This was a bullshit lawsuit from the start and her lawyer got what she came for. I don't believe any of this has anything to do with guilt or innocence.

I hope this goes a long ways towards making women at FSU more safe and the Tallahassee police process rape allegations and evidence expeditiously and thoroughly. I expect that FSU did not want certain information to come to trial that may be a basis for denial of Title IX funds to their institution. They'll want to settle any other similar cases, put a real review system in place, and take measures against future incidents.

I wonder how much of the FSU investigation the plaintiff will be able to use in any upcoming Winston suit. I also wonder if there are any civil suits against De'Andre Johnson or Dalvin Cook for punching women.

(Add) The lum sum settlement is described as "the largest settlement for Title IX claims regarding indifference to a student’s reported sexual assault." FSU also agrees to make a "five-year commitment to awareness, prevention and training programs."

The settlement does not affect an ongoing Title IX federal investigation of FSU by the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights.
